There was – something, I don't want to say what it actually was because it would sound crazy. Okay, fine. Darkness, just a sea of darkness. I can't even begin to explain it.” Azusa paused here, pressing the end of the pen against her cheek considering what to write next. The maths book in which she had been scrawled in – rustled in the wind. “I thought penning it down would help me make sense of everything. It hasn't really helped. Maybe It'd be best if I back up a little. A complete recollection would be best.” It was fundamentally a normal day at her dull high-school. The dull sky completely agreed with this sentiment; it was quite simply a blanket of grey as far as the window stretched. Azusa sat up on the third floor in one of the classrooms at the back-end of the school. Normally, this room was reserved for music lessons and was equipped as such, but for the past four years; the room was used for something else. It was home to the Light Music Club – for encouraging the study and performance of at least four or more generations of pop rock bands. The former consisted of just five members, including Azusa, herself. The club president; Ritsu Tainaka, the shy and gentle Mio Akiyama, the sweet and friendly Tsumugi Kotobuki and the lazy but well-meaning; Yui Hirasawa. Although, the members had left, graduated and moved into their College lives. This led Azusa to gain presidency over the club and ushered in a fourth generation, the roster included her two best friends, Jun Suzuki; a former member of the Jazz Club and Ui Hirasawa; younger sister to her former 'senpai'. As of now, Azusa sat alone at the table pushed against one of the walls; awaiting her fellow members so they could begin to practice or more likely to not practice and to 'goof off'. Then -- quite suddenly, a terrible scream broke the peaceful silence. Then, another scream and then another, again. Each scream faded away as soon as it had been uttered. Azusa jumped up and ran to the door; her hand clutched at the golden steel door handle. The door handle didn't move; it stuck in the same position, rigid and unmoving – no matter how much pressure she placed onto it. Next, she moved to the windows, tall glass panes which ran down the edge of the room. The window also wouldn't budge, but that wasn't the strange thing. The strange thing came next. “It was like the ground was being eaten up slowly. No, no. It was more like it was dissolving into atoms,” she continued to write. Quickly, pulling her guitar over her shoulder, she ran over to the doorway again, now completely panic stricken; pushing against it urging it to move but nothing happened. “There was nothing to do. It was a nightmare, of course. Nothing like this would -really- ever happen. I just need to wake up,” she finished writing with a flourish of her pen against the paper. She had been writing this strange document curled up in the corner of what could only be described as an old victorian-style back alley. It was a late, starry night in Traverse Town. An opening description that could be used to fit literally every single Traverse Town thread ever created, Ragna was hanging around in District 2. He hadn't seen any Heartless in a while - they had been rather tame in regards to attacking the red-garbed rebel recently. He was all too grateful for it, because they were a real pain in the ass. The last time he'd had to go up against black shadowy creatures, they were made out of bugs and wore a mask, having been obsessed with the Azure.
Scratching the back of his neck, the ex-criminal sighed. "I've gotta get out of this town..." He'd not moved from here since he arrived, and he knew that not only was Hazama at large and potentially terrorising the other worlds by this point (which meant he had to get off his ass and kick the shit out of the well-dressed green-haired serpentine bastard, not that he wouldn't do so even if he wasn't terrorising anything) but there was also the possibility that other people from his world had ended up being shoved onto other planets and worlds out there... though if each star was a world, what was the chances of him running into anyone he knew? It'd be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Dust and sedimentary rock scattered to the floor as Ragna shifted from the wall he had been carelessly leaning on, that particular house being made of stone. He took one final look around the area, seeing only other residents, before turning and leaving the district down the alley. He usually kept to the alleys - it was what he was used to doing from his old world. Though he did walk around to hide in plain sight back there, he tended to stick to alleys because he had been so pursued by authorities. They usually got the drop on where he was going before he got there, so he had to take extra care to not be too obvious.
As he walked, he nearly didn't even notice the girl in the corner. She was scribbling at some form of document as he almost walked on by, but he stopped as he noticed her. Part of him was tempted to keep walking, but if she was in the same boat as he had been, it left a sour taste in his mouth to just walk on rather than stop and make sure. The worst feeling was the feeling of confusion, not having any idea what exactly was going on. Ragna turned to look down at the girl, his arms folded.
"Call me intrusive, but what's a kid like you sat down in an alley like this?" Ragna asked. He almost dreaded what answer he would get. He was used to getting all the wackjobs, or accidentally ending up communicating with them. "You hurt or something?" Truly, the greatest at aiding a person in need. Consider yourself blessed, Azusa Nakano.
Blessed.

[attr="class","bonesbody"] “– I just need to wake up,” she rewrote in her hasty scribble before underlining the line, once. Placing the pen and book onto the cobblestone decorated alley in which she sat, she pulled her sleeve up and pinched the skin on her upper arm, hard. “O-ouch,” she moaned, but this didn't change anything and she definitely still did not wake up. Azusa sighed and looked up at the sky. It was growing dark, but it was extremely clear, so much so that the stars shone brightly above them, glittering in place in the blanket of deepest blue. Her mind began to wander, futher still – as she stared up into the endless sky above them. She couldn't understand what had happened, it wasn't logical. Absolutely nothing about this whole occurrence was logical. She put the pen back to the page and wrote another sentence, “Maybe, I should start to think – illogically.” As soon as this thought had hit the page, Azusa couldn't help but laugh at herself. “How foolish,” she thought to herself – quickly crossing out the words. Underneath the words, she wrote – “I should do something, though. I cannot simply sit in this alley forever. A voice broke the silence of her thoughts and the noise of her pen on paper as she scribbled her last idea down. Azusa looked up to find the owner of the voice, standing above her – stood a man. A tall, well-built man with wild, spiked silver hair. He looked down on her with sharp eyes, one of shining green and the other a deep blood red. His flowing red coat blustered slightly in the wind and she couldn't help but count the number of belts which adorned the outfit. She jumped up quite suddenly, simultaneously brushing down the skirt which was slightly dusty from sitting in the alley for so long and snatching her guitar case, closer to herself. He began to ask if she was injured but all Azusa could do was shake her head, very slightly. She then found her voice, “H-Hello,” she said simply. “I'm Azusa, Azusa Nakano.” She then thought for a second before she continued, “So, may I, may I ask – are you – real?” It may seem like a very odd question, but, she was still working under the theory that this was a dream or, at least something related. Maybe it'd be best to verify this first, “So-o-o, where are we, anyway?” OPEN ● 411 ● N/A [attr="class","bonesbottomb"] [newclass=.bonesbg]width:350px;background-color:#fcfcfc;[/newclass][newclass=.bonestopb]width:0;height:0;border-style:solid;border-width:130px 350px 0 0;border-color:#A7E5E5 transparent transparent transparent;[/newclass][newclass=.soul]-webkit-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-moz-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-ms-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-o-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);[/newclass][newclass=.boneslyricone]margin-top:-87px;margin-left:12px;margin-bottom:18px;color:#fcfcfc;font-size:16px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:verdana;text-align:left;[/newclass][newclass=.hole]-webkit-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-moz-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-ms-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-o-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);[/newclass][newclass=.boneslyrictwo]margin-top:-16px;margin-left:20px;color:#A7E5E5;font-size:16px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:verdana;text-align:left;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody]color:#999;padding:40px;font-size:10px;font-family:verdana;text-align:justify;line-height:15px;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody span]color:#999;opacity:0.8;font-size:9px;font-family:verdana;text-align:justify;line-height:15px;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody b]color: #999; transition: 0.9s ease; -moz-transition: 0.9s ease; -webkit-transition: 0.9s ease;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody:hover b]color: #93d0d9;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbottomb]width:0;height:0;border-style:solid;border-width:0 0 150px 350px;border-color:transparent transparent #A7E5E5 transparent;margin-top:-30px;[/newclass][newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass][newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass]

Ragna had heard her muttering as he approached, but he hadn't been able to make out anything from what she had said. He didn't particularly care too much, however, what she said was none of his business and as much as he was technically intruding to ask a question, on the off chance that she wasn't sitting here because of whatever the hell had happened to her world he would carry on walking. It wasn't like he didn't have his own problems right now as well, given the things that had happened since he had been here...
Upon asking the duo of questions that he did, Ragna stepped back for a second as she jumped up, giving her ample room to dust herself off. She was wearing a blazer and shirt, a ribbon adorning the shirt underneath. Her skirt was very... school-like. Not that he had been to school with the governing system of his world (the NOL), he wouldn't touch that with a ten foot barge pole that he wasn't holding. Having been taught by a cat (albeit a very strong warrior cat, mind) in his world, there were certain things taught by the Japanese education system that he would have no idea about. Still, it looked similar enough to NOL student uniforms he'd seen in his youth for him to recognise it as something akin to that.
"Man, still not used to this... name's Ragna, Ragna the Bloodedge." He kept his eyes locked on her, her expression changing as she spoke. She had stuttered at first, but had quickly picked up and didn't seem to be as timid as she had appeared at first. Ragna listened to her, and raised an eyebrow at some of the questions he was asked. Hold up, was he real? Talk about an odd question... of course he was! This wasn't a game, or some anime, or some website where "characters" were around. This was real life.
"Am I real? As far as I checked, kid." Ragna let one of his arms hang almost limply by his side, the other pressing on his hip as he kept his eyes nonchalantly on Azusa. "Thought so. You're clueless, aren't you? Let's get out of this damn alley..." Ragna walked towards one of the exits/entrances to the alley. "Traverse Town. Appears to save strong hearts when they need it or some crap like that." Arriving at the entrance to District 3, Ragna pushed it open and walked through. "I can tell you what's supposed to have happened to where you came from, but you ain't gonna like it." Ragna proposed as he walked, glancing behind him only after he said that to check if she was there.
District 3 was much brighter than District 2 and the alley. Lights shone everywhere, especially in the middle of the area. Ragna quite liked this District, it made for a peaceful spot to sit around and mull something over.
What would Azusa think, though?

What did happen to where I came from?” Wishing, she could continue to write, her thoughts; but it would look rather odd – especially as the topic she wished to write about; regarded this very person right in front of her. He had been saying rather unusual things; she did not understand at all. Saving strong hearts and other nonsense. He had also had called her 'Clueless' while trying to edge her away from the alley in which she still stood, staring back at the man. “Why is it – 'so unsafe'. I don't understand why we would need to move so hastily.” She had no choice but to follow him, moving away from the district and towards another through a large open wooden gate. This new district was very bright, the grey walls lined with rows of lights amongst even more light from various lamp posts. In one corner of the room was a large gold fountain; designed with two dogs – almost kissing. She took another look over the beautiful district; while waiting for the man to talk again, to tell her more information and to explain what was going on. Azusa took this chance to take a break, leaning against the wall, gently leaning her guitar against the wall safely whilst brushing her hand over the surface of the water which burst from the fountain. She drew the book out once more and lay her pen on the next line. “The water sure felt like – well, water,” she continued to write in the school book; gently spinning the pen between her finger as she did. She then turned to the man again, “R-Ragna, was it? I have another question if I may. Please tell me,” she said, continuing without any form of agreement to her request. “Where are we, what is the name of this – what I assume is a 'town'.”OPEN ● 374 ● N/A [attr="class","bonesbottomb"] [newclass=.bonesbg]width:350px;background-color:#fcfcfc;[/newclass][newclass=.bonestopb]width:0;height:0;border-style:solid;border-width:130px 350px 0 0;border-color:#A7E5E5 transparent transparent transparent;[/newclass][newclass=.soul]-webkit-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-moz-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-ms-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-o-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);[/newclass][newclass=.boneslyricone]margin-top:-87px;margin-left:12px;margin-bottom:18px;color:#fcfcfc;font-size:16px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:verdana;text-align:left;[/newclass][newclass=.hole]-webkit-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-moz-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-ms-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-o-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);[/newclass][newclass=.boneslyrictwo]margin-top:-16px;margin-left:20px;color:#A7E5E5;font-size:16px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:verdana;text-align:left;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody]color:#999;padding:40px;font-size:10px;font-family:verdana;text-align:justify;line-height:15px;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody span]color:#999;opacity:0.8;font-size:9px;font-family:verdana;text-align:justify;line-height:15px;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody b]color: #999; transition: 0.9s ease; -moz-transition: 0.9s ease; -webkit-transition: 0.9s ease;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody:hover b]color: #93d0d9;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbottomb]width:0;height:0;border-style:solid;border-width:0 0 150px 350px;border-color:transparent transparent #A7E5E5 transparent;margin-top:-30px;[/newclass][newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass][newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass]

Ragna sighed when he heard Azusa push the inevitable line of questioning he left open regarding what happened to where she came from. He didn't like being the courier of such news, especially not with all things considered. It had shaken even him, and he was a generally accepted bad person - though definitely seasoned after what he had been through - for what he had done in the past, even if it had been for a good cause. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, so the old saying goes.
"Ain't no way to break this to you easily, kid..." So the only thing he could do was rip the band-aid off. "You're here because you have a strong heart, or something. Your world was... consumed, destroyed by something. If anyone else you knew had a strong heart like you, they might show up here." His eyes closed as he spoke, the ex-criminal opened them when he finished that sentence and glanced over at her. He would be very surprised if this didn't shake her to the core, all things considered. He felt bad for the poor girl... "You've got my sympathy, kid. If it makes you feel any better, you ain't alone. Got told the same thing myself." Ragna grit his teeth. "Doesn't make breakin' the news any easier to do, still..."
Azusa rested herself up against one of the walls in District 3, resting for a bit. Ragna didn't blame her, this entire world was new to her and would come as a shock, especially if she had come from a setting different to this one. He had never seen a town like this one himself; all the towns he had seen looked vastly different, even the Kaka Village in Kagutsuchi hadn't looked anything like this. It likely had something to do with the fact that the NOL had basically owned and created all the Hierarchical Cities with newer technology, leading to different-looking urban sprawls on mountaintops to avoid the land below, polluted with a toxic seithr.
Hearing his name, the red rebel glanced towards Azusa once more. "That's what I meant, this world's called Traverse Town. Mind tellin' me where you come from? World, country, city, I don't know. Might make it easier for me to explain." Ragna asked this, but at the same time hoped that he wasn't being too inquisitive considering what this young lady was going through. He couldn't help but feel pretty bad for her with all that she was going through; she was essentially stranded, taken from a life of what looked to be simplicity and thrown into so much unknown... it wasn't dissimilar to the transition he had made when Terumi had attacked the church, really.
"How long were you in that alley? I don't know what the hell it is that draws 'em, but the shadows ain't your friend here. Probably a good job I found you when I did." Ragna took a minute to think, and exhaled. He could almost imagine being lectured right now on not giving her a little bit to process the sensitive information he had just divulged to her. "Look... I'm sorry. This is probably tough to take in, but if your heart's strong, those shadows'll be coming... if you see somethin' amiss, get behind me and don't let anythin' else get near you, got it?" Ragna had a feeling. A bad feeling. He was preparing for all outcomes, especially since he had felt something stirring for a while.
"Until then, take a moment." She'd need it, after hearing that.

It all sounded insane to her and still she couldn't believe it. “Strong h–heart,” she stuttered, even slower. He continued to explain, but to Azusa, his words simply sounded completely insane. She pushed herself against the wall; next to the fountain – slowly sliding down it until she fell into a crumpled heap onto the cobbled path. Her guitar case, pen and paper fell next to her and she simply looked into the gilded design of the fountain. She heard nothing else of his words, a mix of confusion and disbelief across her face. “ – this world is called Traverse Town,” Ragna said, looking down on her crumpled form. “Mind tellin' me where you come from?” “Oh, me. Well, I come from Japan,” she muttered in a empty voice. “I was in school – I was in school, in my clubroom; as always,” waving her arm at the guitar case, as an indication of her story being true. “Then, it went cold. Very cold, dark and screams. Several screams which just faded away. Then, nothing,” she tried to explain. It was just about impossible, though, what had happened was the world had faded into nothing like he had said. So, – was it, was it true. Everything he said, was it true. The thoughts filled her mind and she couldn't help but clench her hands even tighter. “I don't know, I couldn't have been there long,” she continued, “I was in that alley, I was dreaming, right?”
The man – his long red coat still fluttering on the wall look down on her; attempting to make her stand and to understand. “Those shadow'll be coming –,” he said to her, deathly serious. Azusa attempted to stand pulling herself up via the golden edges of the statue – her legs shaking wildly. “I don't understand still. Please tell me, one more thing. What is coming –,” she said to him, her voice even smaller now. It was too late now, the air turned cold and the sky turned to murky, pitch-dark color, once more. This girl. This poor, poor girl. Ragna felt so bad, seeing emotions wash across her face as she came to the realisation, recounting events that sounded similar to what had happened with him when he had been forced to flee from Hazama. Unfortunately for her, she had been taken from a place where she didn't know combat - this alone put her at a disadvantage compared to someone like himself, who had been trained in battle. He was used to people putting much more verbal abuse his way even through all of this; the way Azusa was acting would have been a pleasant change, if it wasn't so much more unpleasant than teasing and making fun of Ragna.
Ragna listened to her story. She was from... "Wait a minute, did you say Japan?" Did that mean... did that mean she was from his world, before the Black Beast all but destroyed it, along with most of the world's population? Japan had existed in his own world... he had been taught as such by Celica and Jubei at two different points, though never in any particular detail. Japan... that had been close to where the 14th Hierarchical City of Nozuchi had been, if he remembered correctly. Bah, he didn't know for sure... it wasn't important now. Azusa had heard screams that faded into darkness, and then the next thing she knew she had been here, in Traverse Town.
"Sounds right, alright..." Ragna watched Azusa pull herself up. The poor girl was still shaking from the news. He would have felt worse for her, but he knew he didn't exactly have time to be sympathising with people right now. Not with what was coming. He knew that she would have difficulty since she was just a schoolchild from Japan, but... He had to do something. He had to protect her, but he knew that if they came en masse he may have extreme difficulty in doing so by himself. He removed the gigantic sword from his back, turning to her as the skies continued to darken.
"I don't know what the hell they are. They're shadows - dark little bastards that attack. A real pain in the ass. Stay away from the shadows, especially if you don't know how to defend yourself, Azusa." He then turned so that he had his back to her, wielding his sword in front of him. "Stay close to me!" Regardless of where she was, what was important now was the imminent attack that was coming. He could see the shadows moving across the floor... and a couple not moving that way.
BGM: Night of Fate
Numerous Shadows and a few Soldier Heartless came into view. Thankfully for these two, the Heartless approached from the front - it helped greatly that their back was to a wall. As one Shadow grew too close, Ragna spun his sword into the ground. "DEAD SPIKE!" From his sword, a demonic-looking head rose from the ground and bit at the Heartless, bursting it apart. Ragna swung his sword at another Shadow, but it sunk into the ground right as he swung, darting about underneath.
One of the soldiers came spinning at Ragna as he swung at the other Heartless, catching him mid-swung and knocking him back a little. Ragna recovered quickly, delivering a powerful punch to knock the Soldier into the air and swinging numerous times after leaping after it, riding his sword down into the ground and striking the Heartless every step of the way. "BELIAL EDGE!" As soon as they hit the ground, the Soldier went flying, landing and bursting immediately upon impact with the ground.
Ragna looked back, the Heartless closing in but most still being a little ways away. "Hey! You alright back there?" He checked up, making sure. "If you feel too scared, grab on or somethin'! I ain't gonna let you get hurt." Gruff and cranky he may be, but when it came to him as a person he was actually quite a protective and kind person. He didn't care if he ever had to be aggressive with people, but he would be damned if he didn't want to protect those who needed it. That's what he would have wanted, back at the church. He wasn't going to stand idly by while tragedy happened.
That was why he was helping Azusa now.

[attr="class","bonesbody"] The blanket of sky darkened, dramatically to set the stage for whatever was coming next. Everything had changed once again – along with the sky; it felt like the air itself was cowering away from it. It was thick; forcing her to take deep, gulping breathes and yet, it felt cold. That horrible kind of cold that creeps up on you when you're panic-stricken and terrified. Azusa released the golden edge of the fountain, able to steady herself now; without the chance of collapse. She took one look upwards to Ragna, he was gearing up for a fight – even his face showed his determination. His hand moved to his back and pulled out a large terrifyingly sword; of which the blade glinted in the dim light, then he moved it into what she assumed was a position of battle. This was it. The calm of the storm. At least, what she assumed was going to be her first battle. He looked down to her and started to try and explain what they would soon be up against; Shadows. As he warned her to stand back, the ground ruptured. Not open like an earthquake, however, various purple portals burst from the ground. Several strange creatures burst from them, one round-headed with strange orb-like eyes, thin body and oddly round-headed which it kept beared in front of it. The other, more intricate; it was similar in look to a knight with metallic armor, which clinked as it moved, with similarly large red claws which hung oddly in front of it. Both of them had the same eyes, odd yellow eyes, which flickered with malice in the darkness. Warning her to stand back, Ragna moved in – taking down several of the creatures with ease. Some of the creatures seemed almost intelligent, however. Moving back to a pool of shadow to dodge the swings of his blade. Azusa moved back slightly, her eyes transfixed on the battle. Although, she felt something inside. An urge to do something to help. She felt helpless, this stranger whom she just met was doing all this to protect her from these creatures. While, she; Azusa was unable to help in any way at all, other than watching from the side-lines. She had no time to dwell on these thoughts, one of the shadow creatures had managed to sneak past his defences and was moving in on Azusa. The long claw-like fingers raised and unblinking malice in its eyes. “M-M-Mr Rag---,” she stuttered, moving back even further until her back was against the hard wall. She was stuck between the wall and the creature which was pinning her down. Without thinking, she swung her guitar case over her shoulder with all her might. It made contact, hitting the creature across the face. Well, it had definitely done something at least; as it had pushed the creature back, slightly and seemingly confused it. Her precious guitar inside the case, rolled; making a slight 'ping' of strings being plucked and released a quiet, little melody although she had not played anything. She took this chance and ran through the fierce battle; to the far side of the district away from the battle and away from the monsters. Was it far enough, though? Ragna engaged one more Heartless, making short work of it before leaping backwards to put a little distance between him and the thinly populated would-be horde. Heartless in of themselves weren't actually all too bad - it was the fact that they came in such large quantities that could put you off. Still, Ragna himself had experienced much worse and didn't have too much trouble fending them off. This young lady, on the other hand, was a high school student that had likely lived a much more peaceful life back in Japan than high school students would have in Ragna's own time. That was where difficulties came in, as he had to watch himself and her - and currently wasn't doing the best job of it all.
“M-M-Mr Rag---,”
Ragna immediately dropped his opposition with the horde and spun around, watching her back up against a wall in fear, thrusting her guitar case at the creature. It didn't kill the creature but it did knock it back, giving her precious few seconds. During these seconds, Ragna leapt at the creature, smashing it into the ground forcefully with his sword and bursting it, especially after the damage it had taken from her own attack. He spun around and watched her run through the crowd, a few Heartless leaping for her but her own speed causing them to miss.
She left the crowd of Heartless to arrive at the other side of the area. She was further from them, at least, but they still had witnessed her running through and had started to mobilise after her - especially since Ragna was putting up more of a fight as it stood. They had turned towards her, and though they were all bunched up, he could probably take out a good chunk with one of those moves right now... Ragna swung his sword behind him, preparing for rather swift horizontal movement. The world around District 3 shuddered for a minute, turning blue as Ragna's form was launched forward at the small group of Heartless. "CARNAGE..." He swung his sword around, smashing a few but missing the rest, which turned to face him. Before they could attack or escape, he swung his sword around himself, spikes of dark seithr energy flying at the monsters and instantly shredding the ones it hit. "SCISSORS!"
The moment he was done with his assault, he realised he had placed himself in the middle of the Heartless. His only saving grace here was that there weren't very many of them anymore - the ones remaining wouldn't take all that long to deal with. "Careful! Don't run across a battleground like that, you idiot!" Out of worry, Ragna yelled in Azusa's direction.
Afterward, he went back to playing hardball with the Heartless that appeared to have focused on him again as the main threat.

[attr="class","bonesbody"] Azusa took the chance and ran back in the direction of the second district. She could hear Ragna shouting after her, warning her, but she ignored it. He was too busy fighting the many creatures, in which now surrounded him. Something deep down; told her to go, told her to run. It was important, but she didn't know why or what it was. Three of the round-headed, shadow creatures had followed her. Surrounded her. The long antenna moving excitedly and their terrible, three-fingered claws bared menacingly. Now, she was truly alone; near the gate between districts. Near the gate lay a small, seemingly abandoned house; as she banged on the door screaming for help but no one came. There was no-one else around except Ragna, who was toiling in the battle below. No-one to save her from the terrible fate which she was sure to receive. Then, she heard it. A voice reverberating from the walls, down from the darkened sky and up from the cobblestone path all; at once. A very familiar voice. “D–do–n't gi—ve–up–,” she looked around, but Ragna nor the shadows seemed to hear it. After a few seconds, the sound which only she could hear – reverberated once more before it faded away; and the sound of the battle flooded her hearing once more. She stood up strong, looking at the three creatures which surrounded her – boosted by the voice. The strange creatures looked back at her – their orb-like eyes; unblinking and still, seemingly stunned by her sudden lack of fear. “My name is Azusa Nakano. I'm a high-school junior and most importantly, I'm not scared of you.” Once more, she swung her guitar case at them with all that remained of her strength. SMACK. Right between the eyes of the nearest shadow; it fell back slightly as the guitar in the case; made a screech of strings. She took the opportunity once more and ran back in the second district and hopefully away from the danger, in which she faced. Her breath was extremely heavy; by the time she finally stopped running; leaning against one of the cool shop windows. “M-Mr Ragna. I hope you are safe–,” she said; collapsing to the floor in a heap. Ragna shifted his head as Azusa ran. She had run back towards District 2 - it wasn't exactly a safe place from the Heartless, not like District 1. The Heartless didn't usually come for District 1, though Ragna wasn't entirely sure why; perhaps it was the fact that a bunch of strong people lived there, and they knew that they wouldn't last for very long should they appear there? They didn't appear to be an autonomous collective or a hivemind, that was for sure. Still, you never knew.
Ragna knew that the Heartless were dangerous, so he had to get out of here - they were thinning out fast, and he knew a few had followed her but the problem would persist if he didn't deal with what little remained in this district. Swinging his sword around, Ragna assumed battle pose. It didn't take too many attacks from him to really whittle down the number of Heartless around him; from there, it was relatively simple to pick off the ones that remained. Ragna was very well-versed in the art of fighting, and these things were even bigger pushovers than NOL soldiers, given the type of enemies he were used to fighting were much more skilled and had much more durability than this. He was from a fighting game, after all.
With the Heartless cleared out, Ragna sheathed his sword on his back (it was still rather visible, it stuck out sideways). He immediately started leaping up to take the shortest route possible to District 2 - he wasn't terribly certain that she was going to be alright on her own, all things considered. He didn't know how many Heartless had been left that may have chased her - hopefully not too many. He didn't see any on his way into District 2, so he assumed that he had dealt with the last of them; at least for now, that was.
Ragna arrived in District 2, glancing around. The first thing he noticed was that there didn't appear to be any sign of her, at least in this lower area. Azusa! Azusa! Shit..." Worried that the Heartless had got her, he ran forward, leaping up onto the upper level. "Azusa!" Looking to the right, he saw her slumped over, tired form. "Hey!" Ragna immediately dashed over to her, kneeling beside her. "You alright? Did they get to you?" He placed his hands on her shoulders. He was familiar with conflict - she was likely not, and was this entire spectacle probably scared her more than she had been in her entire life.
Ragna recognised this, and he felt ready for anything she could throw at him at this point.

[attr="class","bonesbody"] Everything was back to normal. It all came back in a burst of white light, so bright, it blinded. Then – it all came into focus. Slowly. Normality at last. She sat in a large wood-panelled room; at the table against the back wall. The soft, comfy chairs took her and made her feel, finally safe again. The rest of the room slowly came into focus; behind her bleary eyes. The small sofa at the side of the room, which looked out onto the 'stage' and instruments. The whiteboard coated in odd doodles, the tall wooden cabinet which held the teapot, teacups and their afternoon snacks, even the tank in the corner sat in front of blacked out windows which held their “club pet”, the pig-nosed turtle; Ton-chan. She was finally home. It truly was a dream. Although, it looked like she was alone, again. Then, quite suddenly – everyone appeared before her. Ritsu Tainaka with her short, brown hair held up by a yellow headband except for two stands which hung down. Mio Akiyama, the tallest of us – long silky black hair and that adorable shyness on her face, usually because Ritsu did something to terrify her, as was the norm. Tsumugi Kotobuki, known as 'Mugi', long but wavy blond hair; possibly known best for her large eyebrows; something that ran in her family and finally, Yui Hirasawa; shoulder length brown hair held up with yellow pins. Her friends, her band-mates, her surrogate family. “Come on, Azu-nyan,” Yui exclaimed suddenly, as they moved forward towards her. “You do want to practice, don't you?” Ritsu asked in her usual optimistic way, still with one arm around Mio in attempt of making her jump. “Yes, Azusa. We can practice,” Mugi followed on and Mio nodded along with her. “For our next show, right?” Azusa simply smiled and stood up from the table, moving her hand around beside her looking for her guitar so she could join in. All of the others had their instruments out now, their guitar, one bass and one electric, a yellow drum set and keyboard stood ready. “No, wait. I can't find my guitar,” Azusa said in desperation, now turning around to search for her lost guitar. Quite suddenly, all the girls say, “We are sorry, you can't be in the band if you don't have an instrument.” The scene slowly started to fade – turning slowly monotone, only the brightness of the yellow hair clips was still visible. In her eyes, it felt like it was pulling back and the room was being stretched out, everyone was leaving her again. “So long, Azusa, we will b-b-b-be better without you.” they all spoke together, which echoed menacingly until it was gone too. “No, please don't go,” Azusa screamed as the room faded to black and she jumped up. She was back in the cobbled street. That strange world of monsters and swordsmen, speaking of which, Ragna was looking over her limp form; his hands on her shoulders trying to rouse her. “I—I---I'm fine,” she muttered while slowly pulling herself up into a standing position. “Don't worry ab-about me.” OPEN ● 526 ● N/A [attr="class","bonesbottomb"] [newclass=.bonesbg]width:350px;background-color:#fcfcfc;[/newclass][newclass=.bonestopb]width:0;height:0;border-style:solid;border-width:130px 350px 0 0;border-color:#A7E5E5 transparent transparent transparent;[/newclass][newclass=.soul]-webkit-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-moz-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-ms-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-o-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);[/newclass][newclass=.boneslyricone]margin-top:-87px;margin-left:12px;margin-bottom:18px;color:#fcfcfc;font-size:16px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:verdana;text-align:left;[/newclass][newclass=.hole]-webkit-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-moz-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-ms-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);-o-transform: rotate(-20.5deg);[/newclass][newclass=.boneslyrictwo]margin-top:-16px;margin-left:20px;color:#A7E5E5;font-size:16px;text-transform:uppercase;font-family:verdana;text-align:left;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody]color:#999;padding:40px;font-size:10px;font-family:verdana;text-align:justify;line-height:15px;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody span]color:#999;opacity:0.8;font-size:9px;font-family:verdana;text-align:justify;line-height:15px;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody b]color: #999; transition: 0.9s ease; -moz-transition: 0.9s ease; -webkit-transition: 0.9s ease;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbody:hover b]color: #93d0d9;[/newclass][newclass=.bonesbottomb]width:0;height:0;border-style:solid;border-width:0 0 150px 350px;border-color:transparent transparent #A7E5E5 transparent;margin-top:-30px;[/newclass][newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass][newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass]

"Don't worry? What are you, an idiot?" Ragna gave her the most unimpressed look he could muster. He knew she had been through quite a bit in a rather short amount of time, but he stopped being worried around this point. It didn't look like they'd got to her, thankfully... she seemed mentally fragile right now, but not actually wounded by any of the Heartless. As Azusa stood up, Ragna turned and glanced around the District. She had run back here, and thankfully it had been relatively safe here. For how long, though...
"Hey, can you walk? Let's go to District 1. There ain't gonna be any Heartless there." Ragna commented. He knew that District 1, as the populated District, was generally free of Heartless assault. It was definitely the safe place in this world, all things considered. He just had to get her there, without attracting the attention of any more legions of Heartless. It shouldn't be too hard, he assumed... "You've gotta come with me if you don't want to get caught by more of 'em. The hell even is the deal with these things..." He questioned under his breath, looking around at all times just in case.
Ragna had been forced to learn these things, himself. He had at least met Kairi almost instantly who had explained what she needed to for him to survive, but she had just basically... well, appeared in District 2 (from what he could gather) and sat there. How she wasn't caught long before he arrived... was far beyond him. She had either not been there too long before he found her, or was very, very lucky. Ragna himself was just glad that he had been able to help. He guessed it was a good job he had decided to head into the alley when he had.
"District 1 is this way. Should be just through those doors." Ragna told her, standing up once more since she had. He gestured to one of the large, very visible doors in the district. "It'll be safe through there, got it?"

[attr="class","bonesbg"] [attr="class","bonestopb"] [attr="class","soul"] [attr="class","boneslyricone"]Even so, we all still met – [attr="class","hole"] [attr="class","boneslyrictwo"]Our charming little angel girl. [attr="class","bonesbody"] Azusa's mind, still filled with the memory of her dream or nightmare rather; barely even flinched when Ragna called her an 'idiot' or at the face he pulled at her. Her tiny hands clenched hard and she kept her face firmly staring at the path below them. Her brain clicked back on as Ragna suggesting they move to the safest of the districts. This seemed like a better idea and stand around in this street any longer and wait for those shadow-like monsters to strike once more. “Y-yes, let's go,” she muttered softly. The two of them, Ragna in front and Azusa shadowing along behind; moved towards the first district gate which towered on the north side of the street. Normally, Azusa would have been very interested in checking out her surroundings but now it felt like it was a pointless exercise and it wasn't worth doing now; so she simply kept her gaze either straight ahead of her or down at the cobbled path below. Her mind wandered horribly, once more to the terrible nightmare and what might have happened to her friends. Maybe if she had been paying more attention; she might have seen them coming. The four pieces of armor flew in from all side and surrounded them; spinning around them in a mesmerizing dance. The largest, a purple torso piece with an iron helmet bobbed up and down on the outside of the circle as if it was commanding the rest to strike on its behalf. The long-clawed gauntlet flung forward at them, narrowly missing them but digging themselves into the cobblestone path – sending chunks of stone and mortar everywhere. The feet of the armor; stomped around also; kicking up the stones and dust as it went. “M-Mr Ragna, please be careful,” she called in a carrying voice over the clanks of the armor pieces made as they moved. They were definitely in trouble now.
