Welcome to Kindred Hearts!
Here are some rules and guidelines to get you started and we all hope you enjoy your stay here! If you have any questions, please ask one of our admins and, most importantly, have fun!
The Six Commandments
We’re here to have fun. Everyone is here to roleplay, to be creative, to waste some time, to build their characters, and to just chill out. So this thread will be very to the point. Hopefully everything written here doesn’t have to be expanded on in more lengthy terms, but if you’re confused about anything, let us know either through the cbox or PM.
ONE
We are a drama-free site. Being post-college grads and such, we are all mature, so let's deal with our problems in a professional manner. If you have a problem, talk to us. We like our members and want to help you. Don't slink around to other members to whisper your silly drama and gossip. Most of the time, it'll come back to us anyways. If you start drama, we will talk to you. If you continue to start drama, we will ban you. That’s it. There’s no three-strike warning; it’s the initial talk and then it’s a ban.
TWO
There are factors in real life that you can't control, and that realism is mirrored on this site. It's part of the fun and the plot and everything in between. Get ready to explore your character in unpredictable settings. Don't limit yourself to ideas you feel are safe.
THREE
Admin word goes. Considering the amount of time we spend on Skype together and the fact that we’ve exchanged phone numbers and such, talking to one admin is basically talking to all of us. If one of us says something is some way, then don’t bother going to look for another opinion. That being said, we are always fair in our judgement.
FOUR
Quality over Quantity. Most sites have “1.5k words a post or bust” and these are classified as “literate” sites. Yet when you read those glorious 1.5k words, it’s just a bunch of fluff that you couldn’t reply to. Watch your fluff. The best writers are those who can flesh out their characters in a concise manner. Write what you can and just try to give the person you’re writing alongside something for their character to respond to. That’s it. There is no word count for the most part, though we heavily encourage you to remain between 100-400 words per post. In some official threads, there may be more strict word maximum limits.
FIVE
We’re rated PG13 first and foremost. While violence, cursing and adult implications are allowed, in no manner should you direct any of these three toward a player. We won’t filter bad words, but keep in mind to use them in moderation.
SIX
The Stuff Everyone Should Know (and do!), but we'll go over anyways.
