Azusa keeps her long black hair tied into two pigtails. Her hair, although technically black – seems to have  dark blue or purple tint to it, dependent on the light. She also has light brown eyes, which also have a slight red or orange tint to them. For a seventeen-year-old, she is rather short on average; as she is only 4'9'' and just over 101 pounds in weight. She also has very fair and sensitive skin which tans quickly; no matter how much sunscreen she uses. On average, she has several outfits to choose from; her first and main set of attire being the uniform for her high school. The uniform consists of a navy blue blazer, a solid white buttoned shirt under the blazer tied with a red ribbon, a light steel blue skirt, black socks, and maroon shoes. Her uniform alters slightly in the summer months forgoing the blazer for a beige vest.

personality

♥ Thoughtful: She always thinks of others and what is best for those around her; even pushing them to be better. Although, this is also negative as it makes her feel like she isn't good enough at the guitar or a good enough president. 

♥ Structured: She is extremely smart and structured which is shown several times, such as when she builds an itinerary for the trip to London and even mentioned she loved to plan things.

♥ Musically Talented: Azusa is extremely musically talented due to her parents playing in a Jazz Band; which gave her a lot of exposure to the guitar. She calls herself a "novice" but, in  she is quite able with a guitar; which leads on to her low self-esteem and modesty

♡  Eruptive Rage: Although, she is very calm and collected most of the time; she also had a temper which is lit if someone makes fun of her or when people are lazy around her. 

♡ Embarrassed/Shy: She is very easily embarrassed as evidenced when she was forced to wear various odd outfits for performances by their faculty advisor. She is also fairly shy for similar reasons. 

♡ Lonely: She really dislikes being lonely; which is evidenced when the other members of the band leave to graduate and she begged them in tears to not leave. 

history

Azusa is a student in the same year and class as Yui's sister Ui, who joins the light music club and becomes the rhythm guitarist, playing a Fender Mustang electric guitar. She is a self-proclaimed novice guitarist who has been playing the guitar since she was in the fourth grade, and her parents are working in a jazz band.She is more serious than the other girls and does not like to admit how she really feels. She often finds herself bewildered by the tea parties and cosplaying aspects of the club when she would rather just practice, and is curious about how the club is able to play so well despite their problems and lack of practice. However, she has a certain weakness for cakes and can be calmed down rather easily, sometimes by just being petted. She is constantly a victim of Yui's skinship and is nicknamed ''Azu-

She often finds herself bewildered by the tea parties and cosplaying aspects of the club when she would rather just practice, and is curious about how the club is able to play so well despite their problems and lack of practice. However, she has a certain weakness for cakes and can be calmed down rather easily, sometimes by just being petted. She is constantly a victim of Yui's skinship and is nicknamed ''Azu-nyan by her after trying on a pair of cat ears and meowing.Since joining, Yui comes to her for advice on playing guitar, as well as maintenance. She gets a tan extremely easily, once during their time at the beach and another during a music festival (even after applying sunscreen). As a result, she frequently gets sunburned as well. She gets lonely very  easily and often worries that everyone in the club will leave her  as they are one year older and eventually will graduate. Due to this, the rest of the girls buy her a turtle to look after, naming it Ton.

Outside of the band, she often hangs out with Ui and Jun whenever the other girls are busy. When the rest of the light music club graduate, she becomes the new club president alongside Ui and Jun, who decide to join her. Together with two new members, Sumire and Nao, they form a new band called "Wakaba Girls". During the Wakaba Girls' first summer training camp Azusa reveals to Sawako her belief that she is unable to act like a proper president for the light music club; however, Sawako suggests that there is no proper way to define what it means to be a president and that Azusa will do just fine. While on that same training camp Azusa is convinced by the others to become the band's vocalist despite her prior reservations on the issue. Shortly after, the other members graduated; the world in which Azusa lives was consumed by darkness and she was luckily saved and sent to Traverse Town along with the rest of the survivors of her world. 

Abilities

Azusa's “weapon of choice,” – if you can call it that; is her own electric guitar. A Fender Japan '69 Reissue Mustang in Candy Apple Red; nicknamed "Mu-tan". 

While it appears to be a normal guitar, physically and by appearance; it had amazing abilities as unlocked after her “trials.”  Her new powers include; to increase the strength, volume, duration and sound to it's fullest. She can summon “staff or stave” from her guitar; which is normally what music is written on. The stave can take many forms including fists.  While she strums on the guitar, the sound produced is increased and magnified to high volumes. Notes themselves; appear as physical objects on the stave and are used as weapons similar to bullets in a gun. Lower notes have a pulling effect which pulls objects closer and has a earthquake-like effect, while higher notes have the opposite effect; a pushing effect similar to a hurricane.  Chords, however have unusual effects which she is unclear of right now.

Weaknesses

○ The main effects of her powers are useless on those whom cannot hear it. 

○She cannot create sound with this power, only amplify already existing one such as from her guitar or other sources
○ If she is separated from her guitar or it is broken in any way; she loses access to her  powers.
○ She is a seventeen-year-old girl and has very little physical power on her own.
