The eighth bit his lip as he waited, standing at the top of Rainbow Falls. He never really looked at this world as something good, or romantic. This had always just been another world with little brats running around, and adults trying to wrangle them. There was a bit more animosity than that, but that's what it ran down to in the end. Now, however, if you didn't look at the inhabitants too closely, this world offered certain things that could help keep a mood light and his anger low.
He had left a note on the Key's pillow for him to come to this spot as soon as he could. He wanted this to be a good day, simple as it would be. Axel had something of a plan on how to spend their day. They would mostly just wander, but through the years of watching each world he had learned that Neverland had some really nice locations to just enjoy the things around them. There was this waterfall which were always nice if he bothered to take the time to notice. Then there were a few spots that were lovely, but had a bit of danger to them. Mermaids weren't actually as nice as you would think.
He cleared his throat, frowning a little. That probably wasn't the best thought to have. They didn't really need more danger, did they? He provided enough of that without even thinking about it. Great, now he was going to start doubting this relationship again and ruin the day he had planned. It seemed that was going to start being his new pattern and he certainly didn't need that. He really needed the distraction of Roxas by his side to keep his thoughts from going too dark.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Axel ♡NOTES: fINALLY THEY AHVE A DATE Resisting a note left by the redhead was utterly impossible, not that such a thing would even begin to cross the little Nobody's mind in the first place. He was so captivated by Axel in just about every way imaginable; he would do anything upon anything to maintain a place by the Flurry's side. That being established, whenever the thirteenth in the denounced Organization awoke from his slumber from the previous night, he was more than ready to throw on his clothes and be on his way toward Neverland.
He was sent here more than a few times in his days in the Organization, Saix never ceasing the workload that he would place upon the small blond. It was all because of the keyblade, he was aware of that, but he still felt as though there was some level of... Personal grudge. Roxas would never be able to put his finger on it, but he was certain that there was something off about the way Saix's cold and unforgiving eyes would stare him down the way that they did.
The last thing that completed his appearance was the Organization coat, which he still hated to wear more than anything. He checked himself in the mirror before giving a gentle smile toward himself. The only reason that he adorned himself with the thick black veil was to protect him from the darkness that would try to devour him to the bone when he used the dark corridors. Other than that, the article of clothing was virtually useless and represented an awful time; he was being used. Ech. It was gross to think about.
When Roxas arrived in the world that he was told to meet his lover in, his blue eyes scanned the area. He figured that Axel wouldn't stray too far from where he had been told to transport himself to; he saw the red coloring of the eighth's hair in the distance, indicating that he had found the person he was looking for. Roxas smiled yet again, setting off toward the figure that was so familiar to him.
Even from a distance, though, he could tell that there was something weighing heavily on the Flurry's mind, which wasn't something out of the ordinary these days. It was a shame, really; Axel was such a fun and loving soul - for him to be plagued by something that was so dark certainly wasn't like him in the slightest. Sure, he had a rough past and did some not-so-good things, but that didn't mean that he was necessarily a bad person. Right?
"Hey!" He called out, waving his arm in the air to grasp Axel's attention. He hoped that it would be enough to cast away whatever was haunting him at the current moment. It would only be a temporary solution, but it was a solution nonetheless. He would do anything in his power to make his Axel smile - it was such a wonderful sight. Roxas took off running toward the tall Nobody, the grin on his face being a beam of light to chase away any lingering shadows that clung to the redhead's body.

The soft sounds around him and the rushing of the water were not suitable distractions. His mind had decided that going down the list of why Neverland was a bad place to be was the best course of action. It also provided a running commentary of how bad things could get if he allowed himself to go dark. Of course, he wasn't really in danger of that unless he got himself truly upset, not that he knew that. He was descending into a rather dark place mentally and he had never encountered this before, at least, not in a way that he knew how to crawl back out.
It took the jarring presence of another to shake him out of it. The "hey" calling out to him didn't register as something positive at first. Axel didn't realize his beloved had arrived and was greeting him. His entire body went stiff, guarded as someone approached, expecting something much worse than a waving arm. He glanced toward the blond, visibly relaxing upon seeing his precious Key. He grinned, letting Roxas' good mood and smile wash away the ill feelings for now. This was going to be exactly what they needed if he could keep it together.
Hey, Roxy, He called back, opening his arms to receive the other Nobody upon his approach. He embraced the other and let himself forget that he was fighting an endless battle within himself. He forgot that he was worried about how painful this was going to get. He forced all those bad feelings into a small box and shoved in the back of a closet to be lost forever, only vaguely conceding that it would be back to torment him in the middle of the night.
The Flurry took a deep breath and sighed. He lifted a hand to run it through Roxas' golden hair and allowed himself to fall back into his easy, care-free habits. You ready? We got some boys to find and swashbuckling to do, He said with a small laugh. He wasn't sure just what they were going to do, not down to each detail, but he had something of a plan to follow as far as locations went. He would mostly look to the natives to give some direction on how to spend their time. The pirates and boys might be his favorite bits, being that he wanted to mess with them.
That had always been a thought of his, every time that he had been sent here. The Lost Boys were mischievous, fun. They picked on the pirates and it was amusing to see the men running after children and failing to wrangle them. It would he a turn of events to really prank the boys and set a fire under the pirates. The retaliation from both sides would be interesting to watch. Hopefully that would be an acceptable way to spend their time to the blond. He could always think of something else if not.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Axel ♡NOTES: fINALLY THEY AHVE A DATE It was as if he could literally feel that his presence was chasing away something, something that was cast away by the happiness that he made the redhead feel. He didn't want to dwell on the aspect too terribly much and allow it to ruin both of their days, but it was concerning. It made him worried about how Axel was keen to doing things on his own - without Roxas there by his side, what was to happen to him when no one was there to keep the thoughts at bay?
The thirteenth accepted the open arms with joy, pressing his face tightly against the other's chest, breathing in the familiar scent that brought about so much comfort and happiness. Sometimes, it truly was simply amazing how easy bad things could be forgotten whenever good things were overshadowing them. At times, the bad outweighed the good, but whenever the good outweighed the bad, it did so by at least a couple tons.
"Hah- Yeah!" He giggled out the words, closing one of his eyes and tilting his head slightly whenever the fingers of the warm hand ruffled through the blond spikes on his head. It was times like these that made Roxas forget that bad things even existed; what was the point of them if they could simply be doing this all the time? Eh.. That was such a childish way of thinking, now wasn't it? As if things could be controlled to that degree - then none of what had happened to them in the past would have existed, and they wouldn't be here today.
And that surely wasn't what the Key of Destiny longed for.
"We should find a fairy and see if she'll give us some of her dust!" Roxas stated, looking around automatically and seeing if he'd be able to find one, but that was a long-shot. Looking for a fairy wasn't exactly the easiest task to take on, considering how small they were and how big their habitat was; then again, Roxas wasn't exactly known for accepting the "easy way out." Flying was always such a fun thing, and it was pretty much known only from this world, considering other fairies didn't work the way the ones here did.
"Does that sound fun?" He smiled kindly over to the Flurry, hoping that maybe, just maybe, him being his usual kind self would be enough to rub some joy off onto Axel - he deserved it.

The Flurry didn't think Roxas knew just how vital he was. Sometimes it felt like his very existence depended on this small blond and he would wither away without him. This happiness he felt with the smaller male pressed against him was fleeting and he knew it. He couldn't just let it slip away though. He clung to it for dear life and was afraid to let it go. Everything that he was hinged on having this singular Nobody at his side. He would be utterly lost without him.
If finding a fairy would make his love happy, then a fairy they shall find. Now that is a quest, He said thoughtfully. Not only were they looking for something very small in a very large place comparatively, but they were quick and they would be able to fly higher than they could reach. What little was left of Lea deep down inside, the boy that had died so many years ago, jumped at the thought that he would have to climb trees. This was not a task the tall redhead was often given, nor one he took on of his own accord. Perhaps they were going to get to very little of his own plan.
Oh well. A thought occurred to him as he twisted toward the tree line along the top of the waterfall. We'll have to be careful that Tink doesn't know. I hear she gets pretty nasty when she's upset. Axel had been lucky enough not to find out. He had always stayed in the shadows, keeping to himself as the inhabitants here played their games and did whatever it was that they were so engrossed in. He had never crossed the smallest beings in this world and had never caused a problem for Tinkerbell or Peter Pan to come find him.
There was one other concern that crossed his mind as he set off into the dense forest of Neverland, feet carrying him lazily forward. He laced his fingers behind his neck, looking the very picture of ease despite the major problem he foresaw coming. If they did manage to catch a fairy, he didn't think he would be able to fly. Happy thoughts were something required for flight here and he wasn't sure if he had one strong enough to outweigh the worry of falling into darkness. Roxas was his only shot at happiness, his only truly happy thought, but he feared hurting him again.
Axel might not be able to fly.
He refused to allow that to show on his face though. He wanted this to be a good day for Roxas. His fretting would do them no good. The eighth glanced over at his boyfriend, a grin pulling at his lips. If we find a fairy, you can swoop in and grab lunch from the pirates. You'll be harder to catch.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Axel ♡NOTES: even when they're cute they're still kinda sad tho this, was going to be a fun day, he was quite sure of that. Of course, the little blond beam wasn't too terribly aware of the things going on just beneath the redhead's surface. It was insane just how aware Roxas thought he was, only to find that Axel would forever be keeping things from him. It got on the Key of Destiny's nerves more than any other aspect about his lover, but.. He couldn't bring himself to be angry about it anymore, like he used to be. He was so offended, so betrayed, and so alone when he had found out that the eighth had been keeping information from him the entirety of their friendship within the Organization.
The two of them were far from faultless, and now they were trying to work around their differences and issues to become closer than ever before. They were dependent upon each other, that was an indisputable fact that couldn't be argued with, but.. That wasn't exactly good either.
"Yeah, hopefully we don't find such a grumpy one." He huffed out the sentence, crossing his arms. He really hoped that Tinkerbell hadn't been around to hear that statement; he was still alive, so he guessed that she hadn't.
If we find a fairy, you can swoop in and grab lunch from the pirates. You'll be harder to catch.
Yeah, okay, that was true, but why just Roxas? Wasn't Axel going to be flying as well? He recalled from one of their missions, the two of them had been able to master the act of flying when they had been sprinkled with some pixie dust, but now Axel was speaking as though it was only going to be one of them soaring through the clouds. That worried the thirteenth a little, but he tried to not let it show. Great, now he was hiding things. How bothersome this dance between the two of them was becoming... Emotions were still new and confusing.
"You bet'ya." He giggled, hoping that the laugh didn't sound as half-hearted as it was. Roxas turned his head, peering in through the trees and hoping to spot one of the thousands of fairies that lived upon this planet; it couldn't be too hard to come across one, right?
"Excuse me!" He called out, cupping his mouth with both of his hands. He walked towards the forest, stopping right on the outskirts. If there were any of the little creatures hiding nearby, they would surely be able to hear him. "Are there any fairies out here? We were hoping to borrow some of your dust!" He hoped that a response would be quick... He looked around, not seeing anything at first. A sound then hit his ears, alarming him of a presence that was rather timely.
Roxas beamed from ear to ear, noticing that a petite little fairy with lovely brown hair and a pink dress fluttered down, making small noises as she examined Roxas, flying around him. Blue eyes followed her as accurately as possible, his laughter unable to be contained. She was cute! The fairy made a noise that resembled her own laughter, hovering overhead and using her wings to sprinkle a plethora of the golden dust over the Nobody's figure. She them moved to Axel, doing the same. Giving a wave with her tiny arm, the fairy was off, tending to her own business.
Roxas grinned toward the eighth, running over to him. The two of them could fly again! They just... Had to get the hang of it.

The firebug slowed to a stop as they came to a halt just within the tress. Roxas hadn't bothered to venture too far in when deciding he would try for a much simpler approach on how to gain the fairy dust he so desired. The boy clearly just attracted sweet little things to him as a fairy in pale pink answered his call rather quickly. The little sprite much have been watching them or had been busying herself near by for her to appear within moments. Axel frowned a little at the quickness. He really didn't want to show his inability to fly so soon.
He took a deep breath, bowing his head as the fairy buzzed overhead to grace him with her dust. Thanks, don't know that we can return it though, He murmured, finding the word "borrow" less than accurate. Perhaps they could find something sweet for her in return for her generosity to grant Roxas' wish. His verdant stare watched her vanish back into the foliage and he took a deep breath. Actually, that was a bad idea. A bit of the dust tickled his nose and he gave a small sneeze.
The Flurry's frown deepened at the reaction. He quickly got over it as he removed his long cloak, holding it out as if something would magically appear to support it. I don't know about you, but this would just create drag. It would also make it easier for someone to grab, flying or not, He stated as an Assassin stepped out of the shadows. The lesser Nobody took the garment and disappeared back into darkness. Axel had to at least make a show as if he were confident he would be flying along side the Key. Whether he actually went soaring into the air or not, his reasoning was still sound.
The taller male turned back toward the water fall, thinking it probably the best course of action. If he ran off the cliff at least he could angle himself well enough so that he fell into water if he couldn't get himself suspended in air. So, where to first? He asked over his shoulder, smiling as he tried to pick a memory strong enough, happy enough to get him to fly.
