It was so warm. Sora lay out on his back, one hand behind his head as he slowly came back from his dream. There was something so soothing about the warmth on his skin. It made him not want to wake up. No one liked having to get out of a nice warm bed. With a small groan, he rolled onto his side, hand reaching to tug the blanket a little further up.
His fingers kept reaching, searching for the fabric that was obviously keeping him so warm. The brunet furrowed his brow, now becoming slightly more aware of the fact that he didn't have a blanket to pull around him. He turned his face to groan into his pillow and sat up a moment later spitting out sand. Sand? Why was there sand in his bed? Where had his blanket gone? He choked out what he hoped was the last of the sand and he opened his eyes to see that he most certainly was not in bed.
Bright blue eyes took in the scenery he knew so well. The golden sand, the ocean as blue as his own eyes. The trees he had climbed as a child and subsequently fallen out of. Why was he home? The Keybearer knew he had gone to sleep in the Mysterious Tower. How had he come to be laying on a beach. Riku? He called as he slowly got to his feet. Surely his best friend would be close by. The Keyblade Master was going to be helping him pass his own Mark of Mastery so he must be near. He would probably be the one that put him here as some weird method of making him better. Right?

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora ♡NOTES: THE ROXAS AND SORA STUFF I HAVE ALWAYS NEEDED HERE WE GO Destiny Islands always gave him a weird array of mixed emotions. So many things had happened here, some good, some bad, but.. He knew that he couldn't slack off just because he didn't really feel like going to a certain world. Going from place to place every single day was really starting to get tiresome, but the chance that one of his comrades had reformed was too great for him to take a day off. They would lost, scared and confused just as he was when he woke up in this new, strange time alteration that they were all thrown into. He still wasn't too sure as to why all of it had played out this way, but they were all in the midst of it now, and there wasn't much they could do other than try and figure out a way to live.
The first step in doing so, however, would be to locate everyone and try to put their heads together. Did.. did Roxas even want to fix it? The answer was no, absolutely not, but he figured that it would probably be the right thing to do. If there was even a way to fix it all. Things were messed up, that was for sure. All of these thoughts were running through the blond boy's mind, a thick sigh leaving his lips and mixing in with the salty air around him. He walked out of the cove, looking to his left to see the smaller adjacent island that housed the curved tree. Roxas walked under the bridge connecting the islands together, only to be met with a sight that he didn't think would.. Ever happen.
Sora was laying there.
Sora?
The Nobody froze, his azure eyes widening to almost double their original size. His chest was tight, his stomach was dropping, and he didn't know what the hell to do to handle this. What was he doing here?
Duh, he lived here. Stupid.
Riku?
He heard the familiar voice call out, and Roxas couldn't help but swallow back some of his own saliva in a bout of nervousness. This was.. Odd. He wanted to say at this point that he still resented his somebody counterpart, but he honestly couldn't bring himself to do so. The two of them were so different, yet so alike in many ways. They both showed signs of being strongly connected to the other that it was almost impossible to actually bring hate into their strange relationship.
"I.. didn't really think I'd find you." Roxas laughed nervously, his voice just loud enough to be heard. It was obvious that he was uncomfortable, but he would pushing himself to do this anyway. He had tried to fight Sora and the two of them had been evenly matched until the brunet had outsmarted him. Roxas was angry, not thinking clearly at the time; Hell, was there ever a time where he was thinking clearly? Not anymore, at least. The boy took a few steps toward the one in the sand, bringing a hand to the back of his head, looking strikingly similar to the one he was now conversing with.
"How'd.. You get here?" [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

The brunet raised a hand and rubbed the back of his head as his brow pinched. Riku didn't seem to be here so maybe it hadn't been him. He turned slowly, looking for a shock of silver and a pop of pink that would say the first people he called friend were here. If they were here, they would know all the best places to hide seeing as they had played on this beach their entire childhoods. It had only ended when they were dragged into a fight that had never been theirs.
He waved that thought off and started looking for Donald and Goofy. It wouldn't be the first time the three of them had literally been spit out into a random world. Usually the world wasn't his and normally the other two landed on him. Even that wasn't the case. So, he was meant to figure out how he had been taken out of his bed and dropped on the beach. His hand fell to his side and he took a half step when a voice drifted through the air to grab his attention.
Sora froze as he recognized the voice. He turned around to see his other half standing there. Curiouser and curiouser. Why was Roxas standing in front of him? Had he died again and not been aware of it? That might give a little bit of an explanation as to why he wasn't at the Tower. Maybe. The Keybearer shook his head and tried not to look as surprised as he felt. I think someone's playing a prank. I definitely didn't fall asleep in the sand, He answered, drawing closer as he inspected Roxas. The last time he had seen the blond had been during a fight between them. It had been so closely matched but in the end, he did end up winning.
He hadn't realized that their union had dissolved. He hadn't realized they could survive like this. Sora hadn't thought it possible for him to be without his Nobody and he knew he retained his heart. That definitely caused a whole mess of questions to go buzzing through his head. First things first though. How'd you get here? He asked, taking a few more steps until only a couple of feet separated them. He so wanted to poke at the Nobody to see if he was real. It wouldn't be the first time he had an illusion put in front of him. Surely as a Keyblade wielder, there would still be plenty more as well. For now, he would just worry about Roxas being ... alive and how he got dumped back home with no sign of anyone else.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora ♡NOTES: cute buttons Well... at least he didn't seem to be the only one that was confused. He was, actually, the one out of the two that was more aware of what was going on, as it seemed that Sora had just been transported here not too long ago. It was strange how much time had been altered to the point where others were showing up later than others, the rifts in time having strange effects and taking odd tolls on those affected. Sora was walking closer, and for some reason, the blond's first instinct was to walk forward as well, reach out and touch the somebody that he had been forced to learn how to call his own. He gluped visibly, looking a bit nervous as he took a step towards the other male, listening to how Sora was convincing himself that this was a prank.
"I'm not too sure, but I know it's no prank." He answered calmly, or at least.. he tried to be calm about all of this. He had readied himself for finding the other Organization members, but he wasn't ready for this inevitable slap in the face that was: He was a Nobody. He was lesser, and he would always be lesser. He was a shadow cast below this brilliant light that was his somebody counterpart. Axel would tell him time and time again that Roxas was a ray of sunshine, but as far as the thirteenth was concerned, he would never be able to live up to Sora.
Sora had fought back then because it was the right thing to do.
Roxas fought back then to be selfishly with the people he cared about.
He had been trying to do the right thing ever since he had awoken, though - it was a hard thing to do, and it was a load of work that he hadn't initially expected, but, he found that he was relatively happy to do it. Roxas enjoyed helping others, he had come to realize. It was satisfying not only for himself, but he was growing what normally people called "empathy," and he was becoming sympathetic of others. He could feel sorry and guilty for others besides himself, which was probably a large step he wasn't even aware of.
"I woke up.. In Twilight Town again. Things have been really messed up. Axel and Xion are back, and so is Namine. I haven't been able to find anyone else..." The Nobody trailed off, not wanting to sound like too much of a failure in front of Sora - it was strange how much the blond felt the need to be impressive to the somebody. Like he was trying to prove his worth or something ridiculous in that sense. "Something's been going on with time rifts. Everyone is being taken from different points in the timeline and thrown into... Here. I don't even know where "here" is. A time, a place, who knows?" Roxas sighed, scratching the back of his head in thought before letting his arm fall limply at his side.
"I've been looking for the guys that were in the Organization, but I haven't been able to find anyone besides those two." [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

Well, it seemed that plenty had been going on while Sora had been in his ... proper time? Sora blinked in disbelief as his other half relayed to him information of things that shouldn't be happening. The brunet couldn't help but tilt his head to the side a bit like a confused puppy. How exactly had any of this happened? Time travel was actually a new concept, though perhaps he shouldn't be so surprised. There had been plenty of impossible things that came about in the past few years that he had never even dreamed of being real.
He cleared his throat and adjusted his posture. He really hoped that Roxas wasn't going to find any more of his former Organization, but would it be rude to say that? He hadn't seen very many redeeming qualities in the members he had met, and subsequently defeated. The only one that seemed half way decent had been Axel, but maybe he was just giving him extra brownie points for the whole "I'm going to give up my life to help you out" thing. He couldn't just not say anything though.
Maybe whatever this is is just picking the best Organization members to bring back. Ya know, the ones that don't want to destroy everything, He offered with a bright grin. He couldn't actually speak for all the members, but as his Nobody, Roxas most likely wouldn't want to take over the worlds. Namine was special and sweet despite her part in the plans against him and his friends, so he trusted her. Again, he would just have to trust that Axel was in part good from the way he had somewhat helped him through his trials with the Organization. He had also been looking for Roxas the whole time, wanting to feel again which had to be a good thing, right? Perhaps Xion had been the same.
His grin dimmed a little as Roxas stated that he was still looking for the others. Depending on his reason for searching for them, he didn't know if that was necessarily a good thing. Xemnas shouldn't be allowed to come back, or the others that had been close to the leader of the group. That was not a battle he wanted to go through again no matter how much better he had become. Even so, at least now he had more friends that could help. Wait, Roxas had said Axel was back ... Hmm ... I wonder what happened to Lea, He mused, concern taking over his expression. Now thinking about it, if Axel were like his Somebody, then he needed to believe in the redhead a bit more.
He turned away for a moment, wondering how all of this had started, how to fix it. We should go see Yen Sid. He might know what's going on and where our friends are. Yes, that sounded reasonable. The wizened old man must have seen so much and understand things that they couldn't. Maybe he could even fix a few of their problems, like Sora waking up in the sand far away from his bed and his own time. It would be really awful if he had been taken away and left the others alone. They had just gotten to a point where they might actually be comfortable and happy for a while. He didn't want to cause more worry because something thought he should be here now.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora ♡NOTES: aaaaaaa the baes As much as that statement about the other Organization members hit a soft and tender spot within him and stung beyond belief, he couldn't bring himself to be angry at Sora for saying such a thing. He hadn't a clue what it was that they all went through, what they were promised and the emptiness that went along with it. Ironically, their emptiness and lack of drive was what drove them to doing what they did. The blond looked outward at the water, watching the waves splash upward, his ears listening for anything else that the Somebody had to say.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." Roxas agreed with a gentle voice, moving over close t othe waves without even really thinking about it. It was as if his feet had been moving without consent from the rest of his body. He heaved a heavy sigh, plopping down in the sand. He could take a few moments to relax, that was for certain. Today was turning out to be a real drag, but he wanted to try and make the best of it.
"Y'know.. They weren't bad people." Oh great, why did he say that? It probably wasn't the best idea to try and redeem them in front of Sora, the one who had seen nothing but their bad side. Roxas had been shown what they were truly like, how they were simply incomplete people who longed for the wholeness that a Heart could bring them... It was a cruel, cruel life. If it could even be called that. "We all did what we were told. They convinced us it would make us complete again." Roxas explained with a melancholy voice, not having it within him to look up and make eye contact with his former self.
It was obvious that it was hard to talk about it, but he felt it... Needed to be said. Recently, emotions had been the thing that were running him, causing him to do things that he wouldn't have done beforehand; it was... Weird - to be driven by such odd, odd orders. Whatever it was, though, it was much better than being ordered by a deceiving force known as Xemnas and Xigbar. Even Saix, in the end, had succumbed to the trickery.
"Most of us... Didn't know what we were doing was bad." His fingers, as he spoke, were playing with the sand he sat upon. It gave him something to do instead of focus on what was coming out of his mouth. "Turns out that we were all just being used. I guess it shouldn't have been as surprising as it was." TAGGED: Roxas | WORDS: 525 | NOTES: ... Sora watched how somber his Nobody got. He had obviously made a misstep. It wasn't the first time that he had said something stupid to upset someone, and it sure wouldn't be the last. He had a terrible time making sure that he said all the right things to everyone. He wasn't exactly the brightest light bulb around. He usually just blundered his way through things and had to make up for his mistakes later. It seemed this would have to be one of those times.
The brunet rubbed the back of his head as Roxas settled by the waves. They were calm today, a soft hushing sound coming from the water as it washed over the sand, reaching for the toes of the blond's shoes as he was the closest. He felt bad that he had said what he had about the Organization, but he wasn't really sure he should feel bad about all of them. Had Roxas really been shown that much of a different side to them? He sighed, stepping forward to stand just behind his other half.
I believe that most of them were probably good people, He started, a small frown on his lips. However, driven by Xemnas' tricks didn't mean that everything that they did was done solely by him. Their actions, their choices made up some of how Sora saw them. Axel wasn't someone I would have thought all that good, but he changed my mind. Marluxia, though, I don't think I could see the good in him, Roxas. Used or not. He spoke softly, trying not to break the calm of the moment that the beach was giving them.
He had seen the ocean before them during a storm. It had scared him as a child. Even now, the thought of being caught out there with the waves rolling high and tossing a boat as it pleased was not a thought he would like to have. He really didn't want such a rocky relationship with his Nobody. Roxas was good, he knew it without a doubt. He did want the other to understand that not all of his friends were good people though, truly. Not with the way that the brunet Keyblade wielder was nearly used himself. Did you know that Marluxia tried to make Namine destroy my heart? If he couldn't make me his puppet, he wanted me destroyed. Somehow, if the blond thought they he should be found and taken care of in a way, then he might not have known the pink haired Nobody very well at all.
He felt bad that all they wanted had been their hearts and that wasn't going to happen for them, but there was still a line you didn't cross. He believe that Roxas should find Demyx; he hadn't seemed all that willing to want to engage the Somebody, but had done it on orders. Perhaps some of the others as well. As Roxas said, he knew them and knew their situation. There were just things that some of them could have done differently that would make him believe that they should be spared the second time around.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora ♡NOTES: aaaaaaa the baes It was a bit weird how much he didn't want to believe what was coming out of Sora's mouth, albeit it was completely plausible. Especially for someone like Marluxia. Axel, however, could just appear to be a certain way, but was actually one of the best people Roxas had ever gotten the chance to meet in his days of life. The redhead understood him, and he was always there for him whenever the Key got into any sort of trouble. Whenever he had nowhere to turn, he was able to lean back and rely on the eighth for support; without Axel, he hadn't a clue where he'd even be.
Roxas sighed, a troubled expression growing upon his face - how was he supposed to take that? Marluxia had trained him in the beginning, just like the rest of the members. Each of them had given him bits of information about how life worked and what he was expected to accomplish - Marluxia seemed to be a bit preoccupied, but the boy had never suspected that things ran that deep. And he had hurt Namine, of all people.
"I'll make sure to mark him off of my list of people to find, then." He wanted it to come across like a joke, but it just sounded more sad than anything else. These days back in the realm of the living ere very difficult, but he was planning to do anything in his power to make sure that he and those who were close to him.. Got that second chance that they all prayed for ever so much. He couldn't help but recall how Axel had called that notion "selfish." It kind of was, in the long run, wasn't it? Was he doing it because he wanted his friends to have that chance, or because he wanted to be with them in his chance?
"Y'know, for the longest time, I thought that if we met again I'd want to fight you. Like last time." The topic was pulled from the air out of absolutely nowhere, but by the way Roxas was speaking, this obviously was quite important to him. "But now.. I'm just indifferent. Is that how it's supposed to be?" [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

TAGGED: Roxas | WORDS: 429 | NOTES: ... Sora's usually bright personality was not doing him any good right now. He chipper demeanor wouldn't make Roxas feel any better and he definitely wasn't feeling great for upsetting him with information about Marluxia. Obviously them merging didn't mean that the blond would get all his memories, or vise versa, clearly. He didn't know a thing about any of the Organization members beyond the interaction he, himself, had before he found them. If he counted, he hadn't even met all of them either. He bit the inside of his cheek for a moment then reached out to touch his counterpart's shoulder.
Hey, maybe he could be like Axel. He could change and try to be better. There's always hope, He offered, finding the brighter side and feeling more optimistic himself. He wasn't really sure he believed that, but it could be true. Even Riku had needed someone to hold out hope for him that he wouldn't be lost to the darkness. Now his best friend was a Keyblade Master and true hero. Yeah, there could be hope for the pink haired guy with a giant scythe for a weapon. Sure, why not.
He shifted on his feet and let his hand fall back to his side as he looked out over the waters he knew so well. It was still a great sight to start and end his days with even if the chance to do so was very rare. It was calming and the scenery was just as indifferent to them as it seemed Roxas was to him. He gave a small thoughtful noise and considered his other half's words. He was indifferent about meeting him again. It was better than anger or anything else that could drive them to another fight, but it probably wasn't the best of reactions. They were two halves of the same thing after all.
Sora grinned at the blond. I think we're growing up, He said in response. Not everything has to be a fight, but for as close as we should be, we don't really know each other well enough to be friends. Oh, now that was a sad thought. He wasn't friends with himself? That was an odd way to phrase it considering Roxas definitely seemed like his own person enough to make Sora forget that Roxas was his Nobody, but they were so closely connected that it was upsetting. He had to fix that! He quickly took the few paces to step in front of the other Keyblade wielder and leaned in close. Let's be friends. We'll start now.
