Just as Genos had thought things were to stay relatively calm without anything going wrong as they did back on Earth with the constant arrival of monsters and things that needed to be defeated by heroes, he was proven wrong. There were lots of things in life that the cyborg was proven wrong about, but for once, he was really, really hoping that he had been correct about this one. Normally, being proven wrong wasn't something that bothered him too terribly much, but now he was faced with protecting the people of this world without Saitama for back up. His teacher was what he consistently fell back on, as much as he loathed doing so.
But he didn't have that security this time. If he were to die, then so be it, he wasn't as concerned about that as he was about the civilians dying without something worthy enough to protect them. Sure, there was Hercules, but against something that had attacked Earth, he would be rendered just as useless as both he and his Master were.
Genos had rushed out quickly of the inn he had been staying at as soon as he heard a loud crash of what sounded like debris. He heard screams in the distance, his scanners picking up a large array of frightened people; their heart rates were off the charts and there were grouped in mass numbers. This lead him to concur that there had been an event or something of the sort at the Colosseum that had gone terribly wrong. Dealing with monsters as a source of entertainment could lead to that. Genos was aware that he would never quite understand it, but he had to do what was right, what his Teacher would do. And that was to protect anyone at no matter the cost.
Even though... Saitama just did it for fun.
When he had arrived at the Colosseum with the aid of his firepower propulsion systems, the cyborg came to a complete stop when he saw the head of what was causing the ruckus poking up over the circular wall, destroying just about everything in its wake, although its movements were relatively slow. His black and yellow eyes scanned it, his systems picking up that it was the same type of being that had attacked the Earth; they had swallowed it whole, but.. None of them retained so much mass.
Genos used the jets at the bottom of his feet to propel himself upward, landing atop one of the symmetric statues that guarded the front entrance to the dome. Holding out one his arms, it transformed into his usual fire canon, the whirring noises of his mechanics operating sounding as the engines readied to fire towards the creature.
He wasn't about to let what happened to Earth happen to this planet. He refused.
