[googlefont="Handlee"] There's so many places I want to go, so many things I want to see When Merlin announced that a young lady was going to be joining Mikleo in magic study, you can imagine the seraph’s surprise. Just being the wizard’s apprentice was a privilege in itself. Having a fellow partner with whom he can discuss magic was even better. The old sage also mentioned in passing that Mikleo himself would come to learn a lot of things through the young lady - though right now, the white-haired boy wasn’t sure what that meant exactly.
When the esteemed wizard left the two to become acquainted, Mikleo bowed lightly. “I’m Mikleo. You’ve already heard this from the master, but I’m an apprentice of magic and bookkeeping. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Following the formalities, Mikleo invited the redhead to join him in the livingroom. Deep inside, he was already looking forward to their future nerd-outs about magic -even though, of course, his exterior was placid as a lake.
He decided against talking about himself despite having a lot to share. He figured playing by questions is a more reasonable pace.
“I can sense a lot of magical potential in you,” he pointed out, “potential I sense in very few others. Can you tell me more about yourself, Kairi?”

this time, i'll protect you! M erlin and Master Yen Sid, two of the most recognised users of magic among the world's... and here she was with the privilege of taking lessons from both of them. With Master Yen Sid she continued her training in the use of her keyblade, meanwhile she had started training under Merlin in the ways of magic. Today she was was to officially begin that magical study along a fellow apprentice named Mikleo. She was very happy to meet a new face, lately the only way she met anyone knew was by helping them through the pain of losing their world to the heartless, a very disheartening affair. But this... this was different! Though it was possible the boy she was meeting had still lost his home, his training under Merlin at least meant she wouldn't have to go through the sadder beginnings many of her talks did with new people lately, that was reassuring to her! After a brief introduction from their shared master her fellow student proceeded to introduce himself with a bow. Kairi smiled in response. He looked so mature for someone in their age group and, if nothing else he defently had more Manners than Sora and Tidus-even if you put them together. He liked to read? Was he a scholar then, aside from being a mage? She supposed she would have plenty of time to ask later, they were partners now after all. She returned his bow with one of her own happily. "I'm Kairi, i'm learning from Merlin in the hopes it can help me assist my friends! So... I suppose that makes me an apprentice to, sorry but I don't have a cool second profession" The teen winked playfully before chuckling lightly at her joke. Their was no sense being serious all the time right? Studying was important but like Sora's companions say, you can't forget to smile! Kairi nodded at Mikleo's invitation to join him in the living room and followed close behind. When they got their she had expected them to began a joined study session but instead the white haired student seemed to want to get to know her better. Kairi's smile brightened in response, she was liking this guy already. "That's what the masters say to... honestly I wish I had yall's insight"Briefly the girl closed her eyes in thought. Telling him the entire story would probably keep them here all day. On the other hand a short recap could do just as well for now right? "Well, I spent most of my life on a group of islands with my best friends Sora Riku and Selphie, along with two really big ball fans named Tidus and Wakka"She gave a sigh of happiness as she recalled the memories. How were they doing now while the trio was gone? She could probably guess what Selphie was up to but the other two... they were always so random. "Some bad things happened over the last couple years that kept us all separated a lot... some of it because of my own weakness...but now we're all back together! That's why I'm here actually, so that next time I'll be anything but a burden on them"Although the start of her words had seemed sad, she quickly brought up her mood towards the end to make up for it. No use banging herself up to much about the past right? She couldn't change it, but she could change what happened from now on. "Anyway that's me in a nutshell, what about you?"

[googlefont="Handlee"] There's so many places I want to go, so many things I want to see Mikleo couldn't help it. He smiled. In his last group of friends, he was pretty much the only one with insight (even though most of the time he was mercilessly teased and treated like a kid). It was a good thing someone else here acknowledged that too. It meant that as his own person, Mikleo hadn't changed much in the 6 months he's been in the outer worlds.
When Kairi relayed some of her history and also what seemed to be her motives for learning magic, the seraph's appreciation only grew. Striving to be useful, to stop being a burden to the people most important to you...that was a pretty big thing to put into action. Mikleo regarded Kairi with a lighthearted expression as he quipped, "You know, you're a lot like me in that regard."
And then it was time to explain things from his side. Mikleo would have tried to keep things short and simple, but his mouth and brain were separate entities, so there wasn’t much help there.
"I grew up on a mountain top, alongside a friend. We were isolated, but we lived peacefully...until a few things changed." They learned the truth, to be specific, that the world below their small mountain was no utopia, but a cesspit of darkness and chaos. One minute, his best friend was a prophesied savior, the next, they were all traveling to save the entire world. Thankfully, Mikleo took another, less sour route with his story. "The bottom line is that I didn't want to be a burden either, so I decided to do something about that. I built my strengths, not to outshine my friends, but to be a silent aid at their sides." Inclining his head nostalgically, Mikleo added, "It sounds to me like you're on a similar path, Kairi. Maybe that’s the potential I’m sensing in you. The potential to protect the irreplaceable ones. As your student partner, I will do what I can to help you achieve that goal."
Mikleo pondered any other important details that Kairi would have to know about him. It sounded like they were going to stick around for a while, so it was only prudent to clear some things up.
“You should know that my main area of expertise lies in water magic, and my main weapon is the staff. Unfortunately, due to my affinity, I don’t always mix well with fire magic. If you're fine with that, then we can begin?”
