NOTES vampurrs~
| Eyes slowly opened with some reluctance to see a sky above him golden in hue. Sitting up, the first thing that the dhampir noticed was this was clearly not the place he called home- nor anything else that he had seen before. Startled, he stared out at the array of lovely buildings, and the ocean that stretched out endlessly beyond them. He could see a train in the distance, making it's way throughout the town. Where was this?
A short investigation revealed that this was a place called Twilight Town. Upon questioning of the name, it was revealed that the sun... remained stuck at that height in the sky, forever. Thus the name. Already he could feel a certain drowsiness beginning to show itself. The sun, while not fatal, made him feel like he needed to take a nap.
Seeking out somewhere out of the way of the sun, he learned a few more things. First, Corvus and his army were nowhere to be seen. Second, there was a lot of strange monsters lurking in the shadows of the town- things with black bodies and yellow eyes. They were not friendly in the slightest regard, attacking as soon as he approached. Not wanting to wind up already in a fight so soon, Kuro merely ran away. It was better to be on his guard while he tried to figure out what was going on here.
Eventually, he found himself that appeared to be the sewer system of the town. It was connected to under ground passageways that spanned underneath the city. Within the deeper passageways, away from the sun, he felt better. More clear headed. But what was he going to do? He didn't know of any Twilight Town and the fact that the sun somehow stayed in the same position all the time... Something was up. He needed to find out what, however. The darkness that had consumed him and the airship- could that have something to do with it?
Sighing, the dhampir slid down against the wall, his eyes closed. He was starting to feel hungry...

The sun.
It was dim and low in the sky, painting the world with purples and reds as opposed to the pale blue of full daylight, but it was still sunlight. And Dio had suddenly opened his eyes to find it glaring straight at him, courtesy of the reflection in a puddle. Even that reflected glare scalded his skin and drew a hiss of agony from his lips, the roiling red-gold glow of an undead being destroyed by the sun's purifying force burbling away under his flesh.
"Ghk... Z-Za WARUDO...!" he snarled out between clenched teeth, pounding one fist into the earth. The sickly green-skinned Stand flickered into view at his shoulder, clenched fists at the ready. "TOKI YO TOMARE!"
Time slowed to a crawl, and immediately The World all but disappeared. The corner of a nearby building exploded as the powerful Stand's fist struck it like a meteor, throwing up a huge cloud of dust and debris which soon froze in place in the field of stopped time, casting Dio into deep shadow.
He took the few precious seconds he had to catch his breath, in the peaceful embrace of the shadow. But slowly his expression twisted into a maddened scowl. It was unthinkable. The mighty Dio, reduced to this...this pitiful state...
With a snarl of rage, his fist again smote the earth, tremendously more forcefully, sending spidery cracks spreading in every direction. Another blow split the ground below his fist, and with a third blow, delivered courtesy of The World, the ground collapsed into a shower of rubble, opening into a yawning abyss reaching down into darkness.
Dio rose on shaky legs and leaped into the shadow, descending into the darkness of what he could only guess to be some sort of sewer system. Staggering into the welcome, deep shade, he leaned against a wall. "Soshite....toki wa....ugoki desu..."
Time lurched back into motion, and on the streets above the chaos of Dio's actions unfolded all at once, debris raining down from an explosion with no warning, the ground shattering into a sudden hole several meters wide. The shouts and screams of surprise, fear, anger, and pain...were music to Dio's ears. And he could only smirk his gleefully maddened smirk as his sun-scorched flesh healed.

NOTES to be honest if dio needs and/or wants to he can go and we can have mine or your next post be them meeting again. c:
| He'd almost been asleep, eyes gently sliding shut... when the entire world suddenly seemed to explode around him. Some distant part of his mind that had still been alert and listening heard shouting- right before the entire world above suddenly seemed to explode for no reason. In the exact same instant, the entire roof in one of the tunnels near his collapsed, water pipes bursting and spraying everywhere as a thick cloud of dust and debris filled the area. Kuro, who'd certainly not been expecting it, just about leapt out of his skin.
Staggering to his feet, still feeling the vibrations from the still-collapsing sections of tunnel, bloody red wings immediately burst forth from his attack as his fight or flight instinct kicked in. Heart pounding, the reptile part of his brain still screaming that he was under attack, the dhampir staggered backwards, the red tail-like wings defensively curling around him in order to protect him from any possible attacks.
Only seconds had passed since the event had first occurred, but already he could hear shocked and pained screams. Eyes widening, he realized that the explosion must have caught someone in it's blast- but what exactly had caused such a catastrophic event out of nowhere? Either way, there must be those who needed help- immediately, his wings flared out and he jumped towards the tunnel. He could hear- and smell- people within the rubble- and there was a lot of blood in the air.
Biting down on his lip, he quickly used his wings to move the rubble, ripping the large chunks of metal and concrete out of the way. A horrifying sight reached his eyes- someone had-... Averting his eyes, he pressed onward, his four wings moving in tandem to get the rubble out of the way. As the sunlight broke through to shine into the tunnel, he could see others up above who were staring down into the gaping hole in horror.
Fortunately, it was actually only two people who had fallen down here, and one of them... The other, a young woman with bright strawberry blonde hair, was unconscious. Her arm was clearly broken, and she was unconscious. Scooping her up into his arms, Kuro tensed, before lunging into the air. Out here, above the underground, he could see that a building had collapsed- there were already a few people trying to dig others out of the disaster. Someone ran forward, healing magic at the ready. "Here- she, she fell down." Kuro stammered out as they approached, before quickly setting the woman down and stepping back. Not much more he could do aside from try to help out.
Moving over to the collapsed building, he could already feel the effects of the sun draining him. Slowly, he retracted his wings, before kneeling down and helping to move rubble out of the way. He'd just have to do this the old fashioned way. Hopefully no one was too badly hurt...

The sounds of chaos unfolding above literally sent ripples of deranged amusement through Dio, even in his pitifully weakened state. To be frank, part of his amusement was drawn precisely because of his pitiful condition. Even much more than half dead and as poor off as he was, blasted by sun exposure and fresh from a thoroughly disgraceful beating by Jotaro and his Star Platinum...even in that sorry state, the mighty DIO was still superior, able to cause such panic and fear with only a single act.
And it made him laugh.
A cruel, sickened, twisted laugh; it echoed in the dark tunnels, throwing its echoes into every dank crevice. Rats went scurrying away, as much from the noise as from the predator's instinct rolling off of the Stone Mask vampire.
He only ceased his mirth when a wave of dizziness struck struck him and the world flashed red. His breath caught in his throat and he gagged, dropping from his posture leaning against the wall to first one knee, then his hands and knees. His vision swam crazily, and a devastating ache from his gut crawled its way through his body with a slow insistence that would not be ignored.
The world faded before him, to a narrow, darkened tunnel, only pinpricks of red glimmering at its end. And as his own laugh, echoing mockingly back at him, finally faded, something else reached his ears.
Faint, and almost lost in the general chaos of the streets above...but that same chaos was what made it resound so clearly, fear beating it like a drum, making it resonate for all the world to hear.
Heartbeat.
The sound of fear. The sound of prey.
With a maddened snarl, Dio lifted his eyes to the roof of the tunnel and swung one arm up, pointing with one claw-like finger. "GO! ZA WARUDO!" And immediately the mighty Stand burst into being. Its emerald fist crashed into the tunnel like a missile strike, boring through the stone as easily as paper. Dio slowly rolled his way clear of the inevitable, and seconds later a roughly circular hole, only about the size of a basketball, carved by The World raw power, punched its way through to the surface.
A beam of sunlight lanced down into the darkness, and Dio hissed at its presence.
But on the surface it was much worse. Even as a fresh round of fear went up from another hole being blasted in the earth, an already unlucky woman, having just returned to consciousness with the aid of restorative magic, only had time for a startled scream, an unseen force grasping her by one leg. The crackle of bones was almost audible as she was pulled unceremoniously across the ground, and with a flash of strawberry blonde hair, her scream was cut off.
And like a bowling ball through a straw, she was ripped down the small hole torn in the earth, leaving naught behind but a terrible mess.
And in the darkness below, Dio sated his hunger.
