[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora Axel ♡NOTES: oh no things have gone south Roxas, he had to admit, wasn't used to being around people like this again. He had spent quite some time in the depths of Sora's heart, and now being back out in the physical world with the people he cared about.. Was almost a bit of sensory overload. Of course he would never verbally tell anyone this, as the last thing he wanted was for either Axel, or Sora, or anyone to worry about him over something so petty. The readjusting process was happening much quicker than it had back when he had first been birthed in Twilight Town and was stuck in his "zombie" phase.
"Y'know, I think I like your outlook on things." Roxas commented as they had walked out of the room and had started the trek towards the Castle's kitchen, arriving not long after they had set out for their destination. There were many parts about this large structure that had gone explored by not only Roxas, but by anyone, but he at least knew the shortcuts and his way around the main parts of the place. They had made it to the kitchen, and just as he had suspected, Axel was quick to put the two boys to work. Roxas didn't mind, in fact, he kind of liked it whenever the redhead made him a culinary slave - it was fun.
The young Nobody picked up the knife as it was given to him, examining the blade before taking the first apple and beginning to slice, making sure to gut out all of the seeds whilst doin so. Axel's question was a big reminder of the fact that clinging to his body was not his usual attire - jeez, he had almost forgotten after such a short period of time. It couldn't really be something to put blame on him for, however, since the two boys had the same body type, essentially.
"I haven't really thought about it." The blond answered honestly, shrugging his shoulders and tossing away some of the gutted seeds into the trash can next to him. "I do know that baggy pants makes me feel like I could fly away at any second, though." He smiled through his joke, laughing a bit afterwards. So, he was expected to spread butter all over the toast with a knife? Why couldn't he just rub the entire stick of butter on the bread instead? That could work, and he wouldn't have to mess up a knife. Halfway through reaching to do just that, Sora remembered that he wasn't in charge here. Whenever he was in charge in a kitchen, there was always the miniscule possibility that everything would burst into flames.
He decided to do as told instead, albeit scooping up large chunks of butter and mashing them mercilesly into the bread. As he did, Axel asked them a question. Sora didn't know how to answer said question, as he hadn't even asked it to himself.
He sighed. "Well - I can't say for Roxas, but I still don't understand a lot of things. But even if I don't, it doesn't mean I'm not learning new things! Like the, er, kind of greeting you do." Maybe it was just the nobody way of saying hi, as opposed the somebody way of saying hi. Either way, he didn't just know.
Sora shook his head to get back on topic. "Anyway, I guess there's more to being a nobody than just...a clothing swap. I mean, I said the first idea that came to me." He sighed ruefully at the blond. "I guess I just wish you could see what everyone else sees."

The Flurry glanced at the boys working periodically as they worked at their assigned tasks. Roxas was doing well and it made him proud that the small lessons he kept giving were being taken to heart. There was a sense of pride when his student and sous chef did well. Sora, on the other hand, perhaps shouldn't be given tasks. His eyes widened in mild horror at the mess the brunet was creating. What a waste.
Trying to be a surreptitious with buttering his own bread slices, Axel continued to ready his station for making sandwiches. He gave a low chuckle at Roxas' answer in feeling more the ability to fly in those ridiculous shorts, rather than understanding. Sora gave a more concise answer that he was expecting. He turned and leaned against the counter to stare at the Somebody. Clothes doesn't make the man. It wasn't a bad idea, but questions are better. Why don't you try asking a few and we'll help you understand us, The redhead replied, ignoring the fact that he and Roxas had developed a greeting the other Nobodies hadn't. They were the closest to being Somebodies in their own right just due to that.
He leaned forward to take the bread Sora had "buttered" and brought them to sit beside the ones he had worked on. If he were to do anything in a kitchen again, he would need a lot of supervision and a lot of work in learning how. With a small sigh, he shook his head and started to put the sandwiches in the hot pan to begin cooking. His green eyes slid to the side to eye the blond. And you. I'm curious what questions you have as well. He turned his attention away and to the food.
Hopefully his pushing would get them talking. If nothing else, this clothing swap was a needed shove to actually just sit and talk. The cook busied himself with making sure the sandwiches didn't burn. He didn't want to have to give them direction, but they obviously needed someone to help them along. As Roxas' mentor and lover, he would take that on. It would also give him further insight to both Keybearers as well. Finally, a situation he could be comfortable in and gather information. It was about time he returned to something normal for him.

Roxas made quick work of the apples that he had been given as a task, cutting them all appropriately and making sure that he didn't miss any of the cores and seeds that were inside of the fruits. He smiled upon completion, managing to steal a piece a little bit early as Axel was talking to his counterpart, but was then caught red-handed as soon as those emeralds were placed upon him instead of the brunet.
Okay, so they were to start asking each other questions. That didn't sound too hard, did it? The Nobody looked towards the ceiling as he lost himself deep in thought, his features turning into that of a puzzled expression. When he was back in the days of the Organization's reign, he couldn't help but be faced with thoughts of question of question that he wished he could ask his somebody, but now that he was given the chance.. He couldn't think of a damn thing. He took in a deep breath and sighed.
Maybe it was the obvious things that would be important in this situation. Things that they thought were easily understood between the two of them that could have possibly been overlooked throughout their endeavors of trying to get through all that they had successfully managed to do. Roxas brought his gaze back towards Sora, attempting with all of his might to scrounge up something that could possibly prove to obtain new information.
"Could you... Explain what being happy feels like?" This was a good question - a simple one. One that could be answered in a multitude of ways. Sora was always so bubbly, full of life and optimism, which was an attribute that Roxas didn't have as often. Of course he did experience it, but it was probably not as strong as the somebody - there was no way it could have been.
That just... Wouldn't make sense. [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

Sora was always practical when it came to learning. He didn't have a master who taught him Keyblade things, he just hit things with a Keyblade and got better at hitting things with a Keyblade. Clearly, that same practically didn't always work with people. Maybe Axel was right, he thought. Maybe questions were better.
Sora was pretty much his usual proud self, until he saw the dignity of his buttered bread posed alongside the other batch that was actually done neatly, and didn't look like it had been razed with a chainsaw. Then he had to just...reevaluate a few things. At least with Roxas' get-up, the blame on who did the atrocious buttering job would be blurred, right?
Then Roxas asked the first question. Sora blinked smartly. Could...you really explain an emotion? Probably not. You couldn't really explain what was supposed to be felt. Of course, Sora was sure that happiness wasn't just a 'somebody' thing. Aside from learning that fact from a not-so-presentable source (Xenmas), he truly believed that Roxas knew of happiness, even if he was a little misguided.
With that in mind, Sora decided on a less direct route. Recalling the one true source of happiness in his own life, he began, "you ever get that fuzziness in your chest you see one of your friends? Or when you find out your friend is okay after worrying about them for so long? Or maybe you just want to hang out with them for no apparent reason. To me, that's happiness."
Reflecting on his own words, Sora could understand how a Nobody would get stuck on happiness. They'd probably be looking for all the wrong things, not realizing that happiness was just another one of those fancy names for another, grander emotion. Maybe Roxas would learn to make that connection someday. He couldn't learn it through a question game, that was for sure.
For extra flair, Sora added, "Happiness is also pointing out that that was a cheesy question, Roxas!" He flashed a scholarly grin. "Okay, I've got one! I know how you say hi, but how do you say goodbye?"

As the sandwiches turned a wonderful golden brown in the hot pan, the Flurry busied himself with getting the other things to go with their lunch. It was nice to have something so comfortable. Gathering information and cooking always seemed to be easy things for him to just relax into. He only vaguely paid attention to the boys, knowing that he might need at least something of an idea on what they were talking about.
Roxas asked the obvious question, though the redhead couldn't understand why. It seemed that the blond had that emotion down pretty well. This wasn't his crisis though and he had other emotional problems that he needed to deal with. His just happened to be on the other side of the spectrum and neither boy needed to know just how worrisome those issues were. He reached forward, returning his attention to the food and took a bite from one of the mangled bread slices. Waste not, want not. Not to mention he was getting hungry as the sandwiches offered such a delicious smell.
As Sora responded to Roxas' question and in turn posed one himself, the cook started to make plates for each of them. He glanced back at the two Keybearers and smirked. You sure that's your question? He asked. He eyed the brunet for a moment, wondering just how far his buttons could be pushed. Then again, how willing would Roxas be to actually show affection in front of his Somebody. Thus far, there hadn't been any but Axel wasn't about to push it. He would just tease.
The firebug approached the small table, setting plates full of steaming sandwiches and crisp apple slices in front of each teen. Bon appetit. He retreated to the counter, leaning his back against it and holding his own plate in his hand. Axel wasn't going to poke too hard at their questions during a good meal. He certainly wasn't going to upset their appetites answering silly questions that might bother either or both of them.

Sora was quick to answer in a way that the Nobody would be able to understand, and he had to admit he was a little surprised. He thought that it would be something he had never felt before, but what was described to him was.. A normal thing for him. His blue eyes blinked a few times, not quite sure what to say until the brunet boy broke the silence again, having a question of his own.
He was asked how they had said goodbye on a normal occasion, and the blond boy couldn't help but beam a large grin. Axel was obviously the first one to respond, his retort being more than enough to rouse some laughter out of the Key of Destiny.
It was then that he was reminded that there had been food in the making, a plate being placed in front of him with a delicious looking sandwich with the slices of apple he had cut up a few minutes prior. Axel was always so keen on getting a nice meal thrown together in little time, and Roxas' rumbling stomach was rather appreciative of that quality. He picked up his sandwich and took a bite before putting it down, relishing the taste before getting it town and then taking a slice of the apple, eating it while resting his elbow against the tabletop.
"I guess we kinda just.. Say goodbye the same way we say hello?" The boy questioned himself, shrugging his shoulders. "We like being close to each other." He was being rather honest, not really understanding how this topic could be considered slightly... Odd, to some. To Roxas, it was nothing different than the weather, or something mundane. "It's helped us through a lot, I think." He smiled towards the redhead after he popped the rest o the apple slice into his jaws.
"Hugs and kisses and stuff are just.. Things that make us happy. It is weird, though-" His tone became rather thoughtful. "I always thought that normal happiness would be different than what I felt. Something better. But.. What you said really kinda broke it down." It was confusing to say the least.
