[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora Axel ♡NOTES: these kids are so dumb and i love them way too much Well... This was surely a little odd. These clothes fit him absolutely perfectly, but they did feel quite different. They had Sora's scent lingering in them, and although it was comforting, it was weird to know that he was enveloped by something that was consistently pressed up to his other half's skin. Sora's plan was that this was going to help him feel like the somebody whilst Sora was the Nobody, but of course that would be all for naught. Nothing this minute was going to make a change in the grand scheme of things, but the brunette boy did feel like he was helping the cause, and Roxas wasn't about to take that way from him.
And besides, this was actually kind of fun. It was nice to mix things up for a change, even when it was obvious that it wouldn't change anything in the long run. The blond was beginning to figure out that maybe it was okay to not think of the long run, but instead, simply think of the presence and how to put a smile on his face, and maybe everyone else's. Seeing his friends happy was so important, and he was beginning to grin towards Sora as he saw what he looked like dressed up as the Nobody side of their strange relationship.
"Looks good on you!" Roxas laughed, feeling the odd jacket's bottom across his upper chest, fixing the hem of his pants discretely before putting his hands on his hips in a defiant pose. He waited for a reaction from his newly acquired friend before chuckling at himself. The next step of this little ordeal was to show Axel. He was definitely going to get a kick out of this probably more than either of them, so.. Yeah, that would definitely be next on the list.
The boy meandered toward the door and opened it, motioning for Sora to follow him. He looked around, seeing that the Flurry's door was left ajar, meaning that he was probably in there doing something stress-free, like reading a book. Now would be the perfect time to interrupt such calming hobbies, as there was something to be admired. And by admired, he meant laughed at. Because this was an interesting little mix up the two had concocted.
"Introducing-" He called from outside the door before busting in with a playfully determined look upon his face, staring off into the distance with his hands yet again on his hips as though he was striking a pose for some cheesy superhero comic. "Sora and Roxas! The... Flip-flopped addition." He trailed off toward the end, his grin turning a little sheepish, but it was still there all the same, indicating that he was having quite a great time. It was wonderful being able to simply goof off like this every once in a while. It reminded the boy that there as more to life than simply searching for the lost members of the Organization, and that it was okay to spend time with the people that mattered most to him.
And he knew that Axel would be absolutely giddy to see this interesting display. [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

Sora's plan was either going to take off in fireworks, or offend a lot of people. The latter option was nowhere near his scope of knowledge though; he genuinely thought he was doing the right thing. I'm fact, he genuinely thought he was an altogether friend genius.
Seeing Roxas wearing his own attire welled up a lot of pride in the original. Roxas really looked like he was enjoying himself in them, and for a moment, Sora remembered that this very thing could have once happened permanently. Sora probably wouldn't have minded.
But either way, that didn't have to happen. Both he and Roxas were here now, even if Roxas still had his doubts about being a nobody. Of course, that was where this fun exercise came in.
“You look like a million munnies!” Declared Sora, beholding the confident frame of the other before looking down at his own - the standard issue grey-white outfit with a touch of checkered bracer here. “And me, I look like at least a billion munnies!”
Roxas’ pile-on idea was to show off this wardrobe monstrosity to Axel. Sora was all too obliged to agree. Yes, Sora, let's not only offend Roxas with this silly plan, but let's offend yet another Nobody! This will go along smoothly.
He presented the two of them alongside Roxas.
“Hey Axel! Check us out! Too urban for you, right? I bet you can't even tell the nobody from the somebody!”

Axel settled at his desk and simply stared at the book that he had brought back to his room. Chances were he probably shouldn't have it, and certainly not here. However, he didn't want to depend solely on Sora and planned on doing this for himself. He was too used to doing things on his own that this felt comfortable, tedious as he knew this would be. He settled into his chair, coat abandoned for much more comfortable clothing. If he was going to irritate himself he was going to do it in comfortable lounge pants and his tank top.
He had grabbed an old tome about the Keybearers before they all vanished. This was before Sora was ever chosen and thrown into a war that he had nothing to do with. Poor kid had no stake in the battle for the light and yet was taken away from his home and shoved in without a second thought. He sniffed at the callousness of it then had to fight off the thought of how unfair it had been for he and Isa as well. This would not turn into anything other than simple research.
He opened the cover, ready to start flipping pages for something interesting when he heard shuffling outside. Roxas, the little social butterfly, had his Somebody over for a play date. They were up to something and he wasn't sure if it was smarter to stay here or go see what trouble they were getting into. If there were trouble, it was going to be something simple, and he would have to teach them how to properly cause mayhem one day. Today, his eyes were their usual brilliant verdant hue and trained on his door. They showed absolutely surprise as Roxas entered his room.
The Flurry wasn't sure if it was surprise from how boisterous his boy was or the fact that the both of them came in with their clothes switched. His lips parted as if to say something but his mind was a complete blank. What in the worlds possessed them to do this. His gaze drifted to Sora and the poor brunet gave him the most wicked idea. Well, if he couldn't tell who was who, then surely the one dressed in the more subdued two toned outfit was the Key of Destiny. No, I can't tell, He said with a completely straight face and pushed himself to his feet. I don't know what you're talking about, Sora. Flip flopped? He asked his small lover yet made his way to the Somebody.
Haven't seen you all day, Rox. Not gonna say hi? The redhead got close to Sora, leaning down to hover barely inches away from the brunet. He waited patiently for his kiss that he would expect from the Nobody, but he knew it wouldn't come. Sora wouldn't do that and he was suddenly struck with the thought that perhaps the brunet didn't know. Was he aware of what the Nobodies had been up to? What their new relationship was? Oh, these poor kids. He might have just brought up a topic Sora hadn't been ready for. Oh well.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora Axel ♡NOTES: these kids are so dumb and i love them way too much It probably should have been anticipated that Axel would try to pull something, just to confuse the two boys. It was in his nature of be a trickster, a mischievous individual who was keen on trying to fool others so he could get some entertainment and satisfaction out of the deal. This instance, of course, would be no different. Axel had moved in towards the both of them, saying how he saw no difference.
Of course it was a joke, right? No, no that was stupid. There was no way that just their clothes could do so much as to make them.. identical..? That was ridiculous. He blinked his blue eyes as his Flurry started talking to Sora as though he were talking to none other than the Key, and instinctively, his bottom lip puffed out a little to pout. He had moved in close to his other half, as if expecting the greeting kiss that was a normal thing between the two of them ever since they had moved their relationship up a notch from simple friendship.
He pushed all of his anxiety about the topic away - no, this was a cute little prank on the brunette below the eighth, one that caused Roxas to get a bit of a devious grin on his face.
"Pssst, I think it's working, Rox." He whispered loudly, as though he were speaking only to Sora. Watching the reaction that Sora would give in these circumstances would make all of this definitely worth it, and it surely took a lot of the young Nobody's mind. It was mindless fun like this that made all of what they did worth while. [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

It wasn't a topic that Sora was unready for, no. It was a topic that was completely out of Sora's orbit to begin with. Still, even he couldn't help but find Axel's sudden intrusion a little too close for comfort. Axel seemed to be focusing intently on something...or maybe waiting. Sora didn't know exactly what the redhead was waiting for, but he could make a few guesses. Welp. Here goes nothing.
A deep, readying breath.
"Hi, Axel!" He blared at the redhead's face.
...So, Axel was using Roxas' name on him, huh? Roxas was using Roxas' name on him too. But how to be Roxas? Ten seconds into this whole being a nobody thing and he was already feeling leagues lost. He wondered if Nobodies were always constantly his confused. If that was how it was to be a nobody, then it really did suck to be one.
Either way, he wasn't going to get so wrapped up about it. This was a learning experience for both of them! After all, the point of the whole exercise wasn't to be perfect at being the other - it was to learn as much as possible about the other so there can be room for understanding. (which sora was yet far from achieving.)
"Say, you feeling alright, Axel? Did I hit your head while practicing again?"
Sora slanted to the side to peer at where the keyblader-in-training was previously situated.
"And whatcha doin' anyway? We come at a bad time?"

The Flurry noticed Roxas moving closer, obviously wanting the kiss that he was trying to get from Sora. There was almost a pang of guilt when he didn't immediately shift his focus to get his hello kiss. He was glad that he didn't as the blond commented in a way that made him want to continue this little prank. A mischievous glint was shining in his eyes as a wicked smirk pulled at his lips.
He raised a brow as the brunet tried what he thought best and offered a simple greeting. It was very clear he had no idea that the Nobodies had started on a new adventure together, one a bit more intimate than just being best friends. Did Sora know what this change was? Had he felt anything like it yet? He wouldn't be surprised if the answer was no seeing as he would be too busy saving the worlds from darkness, and trying to keep his friends safe and in one spot. Poor kid was about to get a crash course.
He shook his head at the two-toned clad boy and chuckled. He honestly couldn't even remember the last time he and the little zombie sparred. The tall male wouldn't look at sparring the same after what Roxas and Vanitas did anyway. Other than feeling a little hurt, I'm fine. Come on, a proper hello, He replied, lifting a hand to Sora's chin to draw him back to focusing on him. He would offer information on the book if the two of them were still interested after, but he was too focused on pushing Sora out of his comfort zone.
His eyes flicked to Roxas even as Axel shifted to let his lips barely brush over Sora's. He couldn't just ignore the boy he really wanted to kiss, but if he had the blond's blessing, he could continue the joke. He would make it up to the other Nobody later. Maybe he would bake a few extra treats for him.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora Axel ♡NOTES: these kids are so dumb and i love them way too much Pranks were always taken a step further than anyone dared when it came to Axel. The redhead was keen on stepping onto uncharted territory and wading into deep waters when it came to pushing someone to their limits, and that was a quality that Roxas absolutely adored about him. His jaw was literally dropping as he watched the scene play out in front of him, the Flurry still acting as though he was talking not to the Somebody of the pair, but was able to mimic the exact way that he spoke only for Roxas' ears.
This was.. One of the best theatrical performances that the Key of Destiny swore he had ever seen Axel do. He was so good at letting those emerald eyes lie and show things he willed them to convey - it was a talent, honestly. Roxas had never been able to do anything of that nature, especially back before his re-separation from Sora's heart.
His Flurry had leaned in close to his counterpart, and as he did so, Roxas' lips parted even more so until he felt as though his jaw was hanging limply from the rest of his skull. This was something he surely wasn't expecting, but now he was faced with it, and he couldn't help bringing a hand to cover the lower half of his face as he suddenly began to wildly and uncontrollably grin. This was incredible. He would never have this amount of self control to pull this kind of thing off!
He gave a few curt nods as soon as his sapphires met emeralds, his smile visible through his look; he conveyed his acceptance without a second thought, wanting to see just how flustered Sora could become by such a close proximity with someone else. From what Roxas could recall, the brunet boy had never been in such a situation due to his concentration being on protecting all of the worlds when they were in their time of need.
This was going to be.. Hell, this was going to be adorable. [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

Sora guessed wrong. Sora guessed wrong. Abandon ship.
If he thought Axel was awfully close before, now Axel was impossibly close - so close that the keyblader could feel, not only a breath on his face, but also lips grazing his. Naturally, this fluttered the pleasant feeling of crippling panic/terror. Inner Sora was benumbed on information overload and already debating restarting the operating system, while outer Sora exhibited a face that hit the boiling point and went past it. In a fit of hard-wired neuroticism, the boy scrunched his fingers into the redhead's collar, tilted his own head backwards, and with a not-so-humanly sound, plighted Axel's nose with a headbutt.
...Headbutt?! Wait, he did what?!
Now it was Sora's turn to drop his jaw and cover his face as he beheld both his actions and the redhead he'd just floored. "O-Oh, no! Axel, are you okay? I didn't mean to, I just - it's just--"
No. No, impossible! Right? But still, that's what it seemed like!
"It's just -- it looked a lot like you were trying to kiss me!"

It was cute the way the two of them blushed almost the same. With one action he had gotten two walking tomatoes. It was very obvious that these two were connected and Axel was amused by it. He didn't mind one bit with poking at it since they had started this little game. However, Sora was very different from his blond.
The redhead didn't have time to react as the Somebody grabbed the front of his shirt and headbutted him. He let out a shout of pain and stepped back. His hands were at this nose as pain shot out and made his eyes tear. He stepped back enough that he was sure the brunet wouldn't be able to reach him again and glared at the boy. Who the hell taught you to respond to affection that way? I feel bad for anyone that wants to get close to you, He sneered, pulling one hand away to check for blood. Well, it didn't seem like his nose was broken, nor had he been injured to the point of bleeding.
It still hurt and he could feel that it would be lingering for a while. Axel would be wincing for the rest of the day. He moved to his bed, gaze drifting to the blond. Perhaps you should have a talk with him. He checked his fingers again before lowering his hands to his sides. He gaze lingered on the Key in the other boy's outfit and still wanted his hello. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea though seeing that his nose still stung. Either way, the joke wasn't quite so funny anymore but it still begged the question why they had changed outfits. So, flip flop addition. Not sure I get it,He said to prompt the Keybearers to fill him in on this round of playing dress up.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora Axel ♡NOTES: these kids are so dumb and i love them way too much Alright, so not as adorable as he had originally thought. Or at least in the way he had thought it was going to be. That smile didn't fade as he watched the scene play out in front of him, Sora grabbing his redhead by the collar and literally headbutted the life out of him. His stomach dropped a bit when he heard that noise of pain come out of the firebug, but it was still hilarious all the same.
Roxas was trying so hard to hide his giggled, hold them back to not let anyone know that he was getting a kick out of his lover getting hit directly in the nose by his somebody counterpart. The redness that formed on his cheeks, however, allowed anyone to read him like the pages in a large-font book.
"Oh my god - are you okay?" His voice was shaking as he attempted with all of his being to hold back his chuckles of amusement, taking a few steps toward Axel and looking closely to make sure that his nose was alright. It looked as though everything was still in tact, though it would probably be stinging for a few hours until it decided to finally stop giving the redhead so much trouble. Sora had panicked, which was kind of understandable. Anyone that wasnt used to things like that could react in a variety of different ways, but it was definitely unexpected, that was for certain.
In truth, though the situation was funny and all that, there was a bit of worry that was rousing from within the Key of Destiny. He didn't want the relationship between the three of them to go sour in the slightest, but he was sure that this little excursion would be forgotten in a matter of hours if they all remained to hang out together. Roxas adored being around people that he was friend with, and he was beginning to find that these two together was a bit of a deadly hilarious concoction that was becoming more and more entertaining by the second. He hoped that they would be able to make up soon, though.
"Sora thought it would help me feel more like a somebody." The Nobody explained simply, acting as though the plan was actually a plausible one. In his honest, opinion, however...
"And I'unno, I think it's working." A smile beamed on his face as he made sure once more that his lover's nose was still completely in tact, then he proceeded to walk back over to Sora, smiling at him gently to let him know that everything was alright. It was a mistake, and those were things that could be overlooked in the long run. He hoped.

Roxas was smiling, but Axel wasn’t. The last time sora was this conflicted was when he tried to figure out the puzzle that was Xemnas’ face. He knew he’d screwed up, but Axel wasn’t innocent either. That was affection? Since when did affection work like that? If Sora had a choice to down him again, he probably would.
I feel bad for anyone that wants to get close to you.
For someone who was about to be kissed without his permission, that stung like a whip.
Unsure of what to do next, Sora just kind of hung there in space feeling absolutely awful about the whole thing. But of course besides awful, he felt even more confused than before. Also maybe a little angry.
He looked down at his hands, then at his attire and sighed, shoulders melting. “This is a disaster, “ he lamented, “I just thought if we switched outfits, I'd make you feel happier about yourself and we’d understand each other. I just didn't expect to be -- kissed all of a sudden!”
His fists clenched at his side, not so much in aforementioned anger as in hurt and confusion. With his words this time facing Axel, Sora’s voice was more of a plea.
“Why'd you try to do that, Axel? I don't understand.”

The injured redhead glanced down at the giggling blond as he moved to check on him. He frowned at the boy as he didn't find this bit very funny. I'll live, He murmured in response to the question. He rolled his eyes as the Key walked back to his counterpart and he stepped a few feet further. He wasn't moving away from the Keybearers but more toward the small nightstand next to his bed.
It's how Roxas and I greet each other, Sora. Perhaps you should ask questions before pretending to be each other, He offered just before glancing back at the brunet. He eyed him for a moment and decided it would be best for everyone if he did give him more advice. Perhaps he could save someone else from a headbutt. Next time someone makes you too uncomfortable, tell them first. If they don't back off, then use violence. I would've have liked the warning. While he didn't think Sora would be so harsh with a girl, if he were anything like his Nobody, he would save any guy that got too close.
He shook his head and rummaged in his drawer to pull out a potion. He examined the bottle for a moment to check for an expiration date. It would be just like the castle Moogle to sell nearly bad potions for them to go sour if you waited too long. It had happened once when he was just starting out in the Organization and he really didn't want to be laid up in bed all day again. Finding nothing wrong with this bottle, he took it and felt the ache in his nose go away.
Axel turned back to face the dorks behind him. His gaze drifted to Roxas this time and sighed. You, my little zombie, have always been somebody. You've always been special and important in ways that had nothing to do with Xemnas and his issues, The fire starter said as he moved forward. He reached out to ruffle their hair. Weirdos, He muttered and walked passed them. If Sora were anything like his Nobody, then food would make him feel better.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora Axel ♡NOTES: oh no things have gone south This was going this exact opposite of the direction that he had initially thought it would. He thought that they would all get a nice little laugh out of this "episode" of theirs and then they would be able to hang out and maybe go have ice cream together. Roxas was a person that simply hated confrontation and arguments among the people he cared about, and his stomach was beginning to turn into somethig no less than a knot. He watched as the two of them bickered with each other.
Although what Axel said was probably meant to be taken in an endearing fashion, and usually it would have in any other situation besides this, but it only made his stomach cramp more. It was so hard to play peacemaker when he was met only with people trying to argue with each other, but he had to admit that there wasn't much he could do to make this situation better. This "Roxas in the Middle" game that he threw himself in was beginning to backfire, that was for certain.
"G-Guys-" He said softly, his blue eyes looking back and forth between Axel and Sora, not exactly feeling comfortable that his lover was to just walk out of them like that, but knowing Axel and the way that he handled things, he was probably off to the kitchen to start baking something that would hopefully resolve all of their mishaps. The ruffling of the hair bestowed upon both of them was nice, bringing a smile back to the blond's face.
"Sorry... About that," Roxas murmured to his Somebody counterpart, bringing a hand to the back of his head to scratch nervously at his scalp - what an obnoxious habit that he wished he could quit. Maybe it was given to him through Sora and the way he articulated himself during communications with others. Axel is just a little straight-forward sometimes."
"He never means harm, though. Take it from me, he's a sucker for hugs n' stuff." The Nobody began to walk for the door himself, looking back to see if his friend would follow. Of course, he didn't want to leave Sora behind. The point of tonight was he wanted to make his nice little dream of the three of them becoming friends and being together a reality. Roxas would try his hardest. [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

This wasn't the first time he'd gotten on Axel's nerves. Sora wasn't sure why he and the redhead never seemed to be on the same page, when Axel otherwise got along with his counterpart famously...very famously, apparently. Sora had a lot of questions about what Axel just said about the...everything he said. In fact, he had so many questions that he couldn't voice them as the redhead strolled out of the room.
And now Roxas was trying to console him. Roxas was trying hard to be the middle man, wasn't he? Sora only grinned at the considerate action as he joined steps with him. He waved it off. "It's okay. If Axel's mad, then we'll just have to cheer him up, right? Easy peasy."
Like Axel's room, the kitchen...lacked theater. Inside and out, it was completely normal. As he entered the spaceous room, Sora realized he had to revise a lot of expectations of the castle (including the one where Xenmas would break out of the ceiling at any minute and attack him). For now, though, Sora was just happy with consoling his fussy stomach and also Axel and Roxas. He considered cooking them something, like he did with Riku and Kairi once.
Sora had never been a good cook, nor would he ever be. That was the reason why his friends didn't seem too surprised, upon arriving, to find fire engines outside of his house (it was later discovered that the young Sora had tried to make sandwiches).
He carefully tucked that suggestion in a box for now. "Are you gonna make something?" he asked the redhead as he slid into a stool. "Can I help?"

The Organization cook had noticed the footsteps behind him. Unlike him in his socks, their shoes made noise on the tile. He ignored it and said nothing, focusing on what he could make instead. He always ended up making something sweet when he was a little stressed or just looking for something to do. This time he was going to do something different. He glanced back at the boys and decided on making lunch which he rarely did anyway.
With that decided he could let his mind wander as he entered the kitchen. He realized that he had gotten away without the two squirts asking about that book more. Roxas was getting used to the fact that he enjoyed reading, but Sora wouldn't know that. He was just lucky that neither of them actually saw what book he had. He hadn't told the blond about his endeavor to get a Keyblade. If he failed, that would make him feel worse and he didn't want to share that disappointment. It was rather irrelevant to the situation at hand though.
Axel was getting ready to feed them which would make him feel better and ease their discomfort. As usual, the space was clean and nothing was out causing clutter. He started pulling out pans and plates which were the shock of color the kitchen needed. His utensils, storage containers, flatware, they were all color coded and themed. Most of it dipped to the red spectrum, as befitting a firebug such as himself, but there were blues and greens mixed in as well. He paused as he set himself up, glancing back at Sora's question.
The redhead eyed the boy for a moment, deciding on what task he could delegate to him. Yeah, you can. I have something for both of you, He replied with a nod. Shifting focus, he set both boys up with something to do even though Roxas hadn't mentioned a desire to help. I need you to butter some bread for me. We're having sandwiches, so however many as you think you guys will eat. He set the butter knife down in front of Sora along with everything else, opting for the easiest prep thing for him since he didn't know his skills-- or lack thereof-- in the kitchen. In front of the Key he set out apples and a sharper blade. Slice, please. It'll be the side dish, He stated.
He returned to the counter and began getting out the intended filling of cheese and ham for the sandwiches and put a large pan on the stove. You guys understand each other better? Is the swap working? He asked over his shoulder as he worked on his own tasks. He highly doubted that trading outfits would work in them understanding each other better. The only way to do that would be to ask questions. He really had no idea what possessed these boys to pull this, but he wasn't going to poke to hard at it. He would just ask their questions for them.
