stand in the rain, stand your ground, even when it's all crashing down A ll around her, all she could see was darkness. All she could feel was the pain of regret wracking her being. Steven was gone.... his world was gone-and it was all her fault. She had been stupid to believe what that voice had to offer. The way things were was a certainty. One that she gave up for a fantasy. Now Jasper was free to hurt and Steven's world was gone to those beady eyed monsters. For all she knew his father and everyone he cared about was gone. All because of her. All because she fell for the voices lies. He probaly hated her now. She coudn't blame him. She may not have cared for Earth but it was a fact that Steven did. That was enough. Enough to make her a monster, just as bad as Jasper. It was no wonder she was lost in this void of black. Though, she had begun to hear voices. Calling for her to wake. Asking if she was ok? Was one of them Steven? Could he have found her, Or was this all a dream? Was she simply in the void between passing? But if that were the case.... she woudn't have her physical form. It was slow, but the darkness began to fade from the Gem's view. As finally her eyes opened to the lights around her. But it was not to something she wished to see. She was surrounded by four human boys, young ones by the looks of them. As she Kay their they muttered things she coudn't completely understand in her disoriented state. Something about her skin and her being awake. And then they began to poke her gemIt was this action mixed with both her distrust for humans and her mental state that caused her to flip. She whobbled to her feet. Forcing wings of water from the gem on her back. Burst through the door as the kids called after. She had no intention of going back, but she also lacked the energy to get very far away. In the end fell to the ground in an allyway, depleted. She didn't care about the kids. She only cared about one fact. And it was that fact that made her finally break into tears. "S..Steven, I'm so... sorry"The words themselves were hardly coherent, mixed so evenly with her tears. Lapis hated herself for the pain she had caused her only friend-and she coudn't hold it in any longer. @pearl [/div][googlefont="Oregano"]

Both Pearl and Peridot had figured that it would be best for them to take a little bit of time away from each other. They had been so close for the past few days as they looked for the rest of the crystal gems, attempting to find strength in numbers, and that Pearl found.. Comfort.. Being with them. Of course, being together for such an extended period of time had resulted in the two of them beginning to squabble over useless matters, fighting over absolutely nothing other than the fact that Pearl was a pearl and Peridot was a stupid little brat who didn't understand any-
Get it together.
She took a deep breath and made a verbal hand gesture of flattening her hands and crossing them both horizontally to signify to herself that she wasn't going to think about it any longer. The situation that she had been thrown into was a complete mess and she had absolutely no idea how she was supposed to locate Garnet, Amethyst or Steven for that matter, and she was.. Honestly, she was freaking out beyond belief. But who wouldn't be, right? Right?
What would Rose do?
At that instance, the incompetent gem heard a loud noise of some sort of crash catching her off guard and grabbing her full attention. Flying into the sky was a familiarity that she would.. Rather not see right now, but it was something, and something was definitely better than nothing! A blue figure with aquatic wings was hastily soaring through the sky, but her flight faltered rather quickly as the body plummeted to the unforgiving ground below. Pearl chased after it, her thin legs speedily carrying her throughout Traverse Town calculating where the mirror gem could have landed.
She rounded a corner and was met with Lapis Lazuli, the gem that had been held captive in the looking glass for so long and had been yearning for freedom all that time. She was mumbling something to herself, something that shocked Pearl beyond belief.
S..Steven, I'm so... sorry
"Lapis..." She delicately called out the name, clasping her hands together directly below her chest and taking a few paces forward, testing the boundaries. She was.. Upset.. For Steven? Did she possibly know where he was?
That settled it. She needed information out of this gem. Immediately.

stand in the rain, stand your ground, even when it's all crashing down " Lapis..." The voice drew her from her personal sea of self pity. The voice belonging to someone she had zero intention of finding beforehand. She was weak, and broken. Before her during this was none other than one of the three that kept her confined in that mirror. They were evil, inconsiderate horrible people. They were unworthy of trust or consideration or praise. They were monsters, blights on any world! they.. they... They were Steven's Guardian'sIt was this thought that brought a sense of comfort to the mirror gem. She held no trust for the Crystal Gems, but she coudn't deny their power. Together they were strong. Whether they were using Steven or genuinely cared for him (something she still held doubts about.) Something told her they woudn't have let him disappear. She could at least take comfort in that thought. This did not however mean that Pearl made her feel at ease. What did she want? To make her feel worse? Seal her back away? If she could... she'd run but... not a drop of water was coming from her right now. Instead she stared st the blond gem. Her gaze was nervous and distrustful. Of all the people to find her why did it have to be one of them? Using what little strength that had come back to her she brought herself to a sitting position, then returned her gaze to Pearl. "What do you want...?"Though she had no intents of sounding it, Lapis' voice reflected the state she was in. Tired, broken, and guilt ridden-not enough energy to form even her wings anymore. All of this was reflected in the mirror gems voice. So she sat there, awaiting what @pearl would do. Maybe she deserved this for what she did to Steven's home... If that was the case, maybe she could accept it. [/div][googlefont="Oregano"]

It was almost heartbreaking to watch the way that Lapis reacted to her. Pearl had known that there had been a gem in that mirror, but she had been fuzzy on the details. Whatever was presented to her back in her days of learning how the world worked, she simply accepted things as they were given to her, and that mirror was simply.. Something she didn't really think about that much. Her mind was very much focused upon other details. She didn't know who that gem in the looking glass had been - she was so preoccupied with the war and things of the like that..
She had managed to really hurt someone without really meaning to. Pearl seemingly had a talent for that, unfortunately.
All of her energy had been drained from her body, her gem obviously needing time to recover after having been through such a stressful and exhausting ordeal. Pearl could say the same, for when she had first awoke she felt nearly the same. The servant gem took in a deep breath and let it deflate her chest as she attempted to think of something she could say to maybe.. Try and make this situation a little bit better. Or at least maybe a tad less awkward.
"I.. I'm not going to hurt you." She stated calmly, warily taking a few steps closer in a very harmless manner, finally taking it upon herself to sit next to the oceanic gem, looking up towards the sky. The stars were twinkling, and unbeknownst to the both of them, the planet that they had been on.. Had flickered out not too long prior to this moment. Everything that Rose and the Crystal Gems had worked for had been obliterated in a single day. Thousands of years amounted to nothing in the span of just a few, measly hours. How discouraging.
"It's good that you're safe." Lapis had taken great strides for Steven, and Pearl would not be soon to forget that. She really did care about him, that was for certain. The two of them connected in ways that the pearl could not even begin to imagine, but.. Steven just kind of had that effect on people. And gems, of course.

stand in the rain, stand your ground, even when it's all crashing down S he wasn't going to hurt her? Was she supposed to believe that? Pearl hadn't cared about her imprisonment in that mirror-who she had been before. She had already hurt her far more than she could imagine. Granted Lapis wasn't exactly sure as to WHY Pearl wasn't putting her back in the mirror with her weakened state, it wasn't as if she could do anything to resist her if she tried. She supposed then that she at least had to hear her fellow Gem out. Besides, at this point? Lapis had to face that she had done far worse. She took away the home of her only friend... because of her it was gone. Beside her sat one of Steven's guardians-she owed it to him if nothing else. Her body noticeably seemed to relax a bit, if only by the thought Of her friend. How was it good that she was safe? Did Pearl... did the Crystals Gems not know who brought ruin to the thing they protected on a daily basis? ?Did that mean Steven.... didn't know yet? No no... if nothing else surely the gem thought it odd she was unfused... But no, she... she didn't bring these up at all. No, what little she said was only about Lapis. Almost like she... cared No, she quickly shook herself of the thought. Lapis didn't need to be cared for, not by her-Not by... by anyone! She didn't deserve it, She wasn't what mattered right now! False or not the only thing she cared about was insuring her friends safety! Anything else... had no place right now. "I'm.... not important.."She shook her head in response to her statement. @pearl shoudn't have stopped-no matter the reason. She should have found Steven again, for whatever the reason. If she wasn't going to... if she was just going to do... whatever she was doing to her... "Ha...Have to find him"The ocean gem then tried forcing herself to her feet, using the wall as leverage. It was a downhill battle. She managed to get herself to her feet and slowly move forward. But she was visibly shaking with the effort even that took. She wasn't.... what mattered. The things that were coming out of the oceanic gem's mouth were achingly familiar, things that Pearl didn't lik to revisit but was constantly reminded of every single day. The tone, the words themselves - they were a inscription upon Lapis' entire being that displayed her self-loathing for anyone to see. She was so wrapped up in everyone but herself, which was a problem that wasn't exactly foreign to the Crystal Warrior that was sitting next to her. Pearl took in a deep breath and let it out in the form of a gentle sigh, not really knowing how to express that she related to what Lapis was feeling. It was a delicate situation, one that she didn't want to destroy by saying the wrong thing - which, by the way, she was borderline notorious for doing.
After saying how she lacked importance that was given to every living thing, she tried her best to stumble to her feet, sputtering something along the lines of having to find someone. It was obviously about Steven, and although Pearl felt that urge as well and had been looking for him the past few days that she had been on this new world, Lapis.. Wouldn't be getting very far with her current condition being the way it was.
"Now hold on," She spoke in her usual, motherly tone, getting to her small feet and making sure that Lapis wasn't to take off anywhere using her watery wings. From what the servant gem was gathering, she would place a bet that she poor thing didn't even have the energy stored inside of her gem to summon to her aid in the first place, so Pearl figured she needn't worry too terribly much about it. "You're not going anywhere like this." With a gentle touch, she lead the other gem back down into a sitting position, making sure she was settled before sitting next to her atop the building.
"I want you to tell me what happened, Lapis." Pearl said sternly, though she didn't mean any hostility by it. She was worried, and she was deeply concerned regarding the whereabouts of Rose's reincarnation that she was entrusted with protecting, and she vowed to do so with her life.
And she would do anything she could to keep that boy safe.

stand in the rain, stand your ground, even when it's all crashing down I want you to tell me what happened LapisThe command, no matter how gentle it's tone, still struck a chord within the oceanic gem. Pearl wanted information. She wanted to know what was wrong.... but, she mostly wanted information Lapis was sure. Information Lapis was very hesitant to give, after all if she knew that Lapis was the reason those... things got on earth, the reason it as gone.... if Pearl didn't want her gone before knowing this... their would be no question of her fate. And yet still... as much as she had wanted to be free, she didn't want it to be like that. She owed Steven so much for her mistakes, so much more than than her life could pay. Turning herself to look at @pearl only deepened this feeling, her body shaking lightly with her emotions, tears forming in her eyes once more. "Earth... I..it..it was my fault... a..all my fault Pearl"One could likely feel the despair in her voice, the regret rooted in her very being, the pain of, at least in her eyes destroying her only friendship. Lapis coudn't do anything but the most simple movements right now, both her weakened state coupled with her emotional distress saw to that. She was sure Pearl hated her, if not before than now. "The creatures got in.... because of me, I... I just couldn't take the loneliness anymore... a voice s...separated us, and Jasper she's..."Lapis cut herself off, more than anything she couldn't bring herself to finish that sentence. The explanation she gave probably didn't make much sense, but nether could Lapis fully control her emotions at the moment. She held no love for earth, and yet what she had done to her friends home... she didn't deserve forgiveness, she didn't deserve his kindess-She didn't deserve him. Yet despite that... she had to know he was ok. "It's all my fault... all my fault... all my fault...." She repeated the words like a machine stuck on replay, she couldn't help it though... the pain, the guilt... everything was just to much to bare. SHE was the monster here, not Jasper, not Peridot or the creatures or even the Crystal Gems..... she was the monster, a horrible, terrible being. Freedom was all she ever desired... but she knew now that she didn't deserve it. [/div]

Things were obviously a lot more messed up than Pearl ever could have imagined. The servant gem took in everything that was being said to her, albeit the voice was trembling and filled to the brim with woeful uncertainty. Perl blinked her large eyes, swallowing out of instinct due to the void in her cut beginning to take over the entirety of her thin, lean figure.
Lapis.. Was somehow the one that caused all of this to happen? That didn't make any sense, though. Pearl was attempting to go over everything within her mind, putting pieces together and finding that there was no way she could put them together. The last that the crystal gem warrior was aware of the Ocean Gem's whereabouts pertained to fusion with Jasper at the bottom of the Earth's watery surface. They hadn't a clue where they had actually been as Malachite, but that was nothing but a casualty now.
"I.. I don't understand." Considering the way that Lapis was reacting, this was all extremely dire and quite a bit to admit to someone, especially when that certain someone was one of the people that was involved with enslavement. Peal took in a deep breath, carefully reaching out and placing a hand on the other gem's shoulder. She hadn't a clue how the other would react to physical connection and comfort - only one way to find out, in the end.
"Listen." She spoke sternly, but maternally. "Whatever happened, it's over now. You made a mistake, well, by the sound of it at least."
"Mistakes.. Happen. All we can do is work with what we have now."
Maybe it would be wise to listen to her own advice every now and then.

stand in the rain, stand your ground, even when it's all crashing down S he didn't understand... of course she didn't, how could she? The story was so far fetched... but it was true. She had listened to the empty lies of a voice who's body she could not see-and doomed Earth to death. No matter what may have came after and no matter her intent, this was all her fault. So then why did Pearl tried to convince her it was ok? The world She and her allies... that Steven had protected was gone but she just called it a mistake? That... That made no sense. Anger, malice and vengeance. All of these things she had expected in response to admission-but not this. She had in no way expected... comfort. Her Her bodies flinching at first in response to her touch was the perfect evidence of this. She did not attempt to remove her hand however as somehow it just... helped, if only a little... that was enough for her. "H..How.. I listened to empty lies... Jasper's free because of me... I let in The creatures that destroyed Steven's home how... w..why aren't you angry with me?"Her entire mind was a mess of emotions right now. Confusion tend little to help mess but the comfort did. Was this a trap? Was she putting up a facade until she could find a place to imprison her? She just... she expected so much more rage from the Crystal Gems, specially on a matter such as this. Instead she was given a hand on her shoulder and acceptance. But... why? How could anyone be incapable of such forgivness? Earth... was never coming back. The gem lifted her dead from it's toward position to gaze upon @pearl. She saw no anger in her eyes only confusion and... caring. But why for her of all people?
