Well.. He was aware that he had essentially known all that was told to him at Yen Sid's castle, but.. It was a little discouraging it hearing from such a valid source. He knew that everything had happened in such a way, but it as odd - it was like, up until now, Roxas hadn't really wanted to accept it. He liked to think of it as some sort of nightmare that he could forget about if he tried hard enough, but now he knew that he had to look at it in a much different light. The two had taken the train back to Twilight Town, and had arrived back at the station.
The blond hadn't been much for conversation on the way home, and was instead looking out the window the majority of the time. Honestly, he had been lost in the memories of his days in the Organization, thinking about how Saix would sometimes act as tough he had a different agenda than the rest of them. Of course, he simply wanted his heart and would do anything the "Superior" told him, but.. Ugh, this was such a mess. He wished that there was a way to go back and spare them all of following that awful man's orders. Maybe even Xemnas himself, however, was being taken advantage of by Xehanort? Maybe.. The blame shouldn't be put entirely upon him...?
Stop thinking about it.
He came back to reality when he had walked out of the train, his other self by his side probably wondering what the hell was going on behind those matching blue eyes. Roxas looked over and gave a halfhearted smile, then averted his eyes directly in front of him. A thought came to mind, however; what did he usually do whenever he was trying to escape reality?
"You.. Wanna get some ice cream?"
And with that, the two were making their way to the marketplace to purchase two of the light blue ice cream bars, a treat that the blond was so used to. In a way, buying the bars was a bit melancholy for him, as he would do so for Axel and Xion, and then Hayne, Pence and Olette, and now, he was buying it for Sora, of all people.
"Sure is.. A lot to take in, huh?" He mumbled, finally breaking the odd silence that had grown between the two counterparts.

The sun sat daintily over its endless perch, comfortably watching over the town. Sora was feeling pretty comfortable too, just by having Roxas around - but sometimes he wondered if Roxas was like that with him too. Nowadays every time he saw the black-clad boy, he was either knotted up or looking into the distance. Of course Sora would notice this sort of thing - Roxas had one of the most honest expressions he'd ever seen.
Today wasn't any different. Sora rolled with the sinking silence and stayed quiet himself, his smile speaking of his unwavering enthusiasm. He was mostly just waiting for when Roxas felt comfortable enough to say something. Eventually, Roxas did. Sora's smile broke into a huge grin as he nodded voraciously. Ice cream was perfect for this kinda day. It might even help with Roxas's gloominess.
"What is?" was Sora's response to sentence #2 of the day. Roxas' gloominess was one tough nut to crack. Maybe Sora needed to step up his game a little. "Dooo...you mean the icecream? That's why you're supposed to lick it, silly! Or, is it the sunset? The view?"
Sora pursed his lips to the next option.
"Or is it me? Am I makin' you feel bad?"

Sora.. Could be such a dunce. But, in a way, that naivety was a large chunk of who he was. He could take anything with a grain of salt and simply brush the dirt off of his shoulders. Let it all flow off of him as though it were water on a duck's back. It always made the young Nobody a bit envious, but in another way, he could begin to look at his somebody with extreme admiration for being able to take all that he had been given and only look at the positive side. But was that.. The smart thing to do? Whenever he was around Sora, he was consistently trying to convince himself that he knew more than he did, as though it were some odd tactic to try and impress the other, but of course, all of it was idiotic.
This weird, awful competitiveness that he had going on regarding to Sora was proving itself to be absolutely ridiculous. There was nothing to fight over, there was nothing that was hindering him, so why did he feel so.. Weird? It wasn't necessarily Sora's company, no, that was positive, it was what he was thinking and going to himself producing all of this gross negativity. He willed it away, but he knew it wouldn't be that easy.
"N-..No." Roxas shook his head in conformation. No, it wasn't Sora himself that was making him feel bad, but rather the way he thought of himself. Seeing the light shining off of Sora in all of its brilliance was making him feel like even more of a shadow than ever, but he couldn't help.. but feel so happy, simply being around him.
Roxas was the one to order the ice cream, automatically paying for both without even thinking about it. With that, the two were setting off back for the clock tower. The sounds of the town were comforting, the familiarity bringing back so many memories. This place was truly special to him in more ways than one, and now, he was sharing it with the person that he never thought he'd get the opportunity of spending time with.
"I don't know why I feel bad. I don't know why I feel at all." He took in a heavy breath, looking at the other with a melancholy and sheepish smile. "This "being my own person" thing is a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be, is all, I.. guess."

Sora decided to take Roxas' word for it right then. How could he doubt him anyway? If Sora was making him feel bad, Roxas wouldn't go through the trouble of bringing them ice cream in the first place. Still, the original did kinda wish he could help his other out...but how do you help someone with something like that? Sure, the brunet was filled to the brim with feelings, he didn't really question or analyze them.
Genuinely feeling a little fail-y at being useful here, Sora pouted at his ice cream. "I don't know why you feel bad either," he agreed. "I guess it's the kind of struggle Nobodies go through, huh?" Axel seemed to be struggling with something like that too. And like now, it was something inevitably beyond Sora. Probably even all somebodies.
Sora thought on that for a moment. He still wanted to help Roxas feel better, after all. And then something came to him. "Hey, I know!"
He turned to Roxas so quickly you'd expect a shockwave to follow.
"You wanna switch outfits for a day?"

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora♡NOTES: These two are such nerds and i lOVE THEM It truly was the strangest thing he had ever been graced with in his entire existence. Sora was able to take all of this so nonchalantly, even when it was the blond’s entire being on these worlds. But, he couldn’t find it within himself to be angry. In fact, in an odd way, it was refreshing to hear the way Sora thought about it. His optimism, he had to admit, was borderline contagious, and Roxas was finding it was beginning to affect him in the most positive of ways.
It was like.. If the brunette was by his side, he could bring himself to accomplish anything. He was so close to the wonderful completion that he felt whenever he was sleeping, lying dormant within the pure-hearted boy’s chest, but.. He couldn’t bring himself to go back. He had too many he cared about, and he wouldn’t give up this second chance so easily. The other then suddenly whipped his head again, making eye contact with the husk and saying something that surprised the thirteenth more than he was expecting.
You wanna switch outfits for a day?
He couldn’t hold back the bout of laughter that suddenly struck him, a grin appearing on his face. That sensation always felt good, and he was happy it bestowed itself upon his numb self. It definitely brightened him up, to say the least.
“I bet Axel would love to see that, wouldn’t he?” He chuckled out the words, trying his best to get himself out of the dumps. It must have been annoying.. Or did Sora even get annoyed? Coming from the standpoint of a Nobody, this boy was so confusing. And to top it all off and make matters even more unreadable, Roxas was just like him in so many ways. Of course, more times than not, he didn’t quite notice it, but it was there without fail.
“Yeah. I think that would be fun.” He answered, that smile refusing to fade away just yet. The two made their way through the station, and then were heading up the god-awful sets of stairs that would take them to the very top of the clock tower. It was quite the climb and somewhat exhausting, but it always made the destination that much more amazing. Once they made it, the blond assumed his usual position, sitting with his legs dangling over the ledge. He unwrapped his ice cream and set the plastic aside, mentally noting that he’d take it down when they were finished. He waited for his somebody to sit down next to him before he really looked outward to the sun to take the sight in.
“So you really think I can do it, huh?” He asked before taking a bite of his ice cream, relishing the flavor of it with a gentle smile. [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

Roxas' memories were no longer in Sora, but their lingering essences told the brunet that this place was very special to him. If Roxas brought Sora to this special place, then Roxas is more of his own person than he knew. It was too bad he didn't realize it. Sora was going to make that Realization happen.
"Of course!" he answered around a mouthful of ice cream, "You can look at it this way - I'll be the Nobody and you'll be the Somebody!" So he said, but now that he thought about it, this would be hard not only for Roxas but for Sora too. Both were crossing their own worlds and stepping into new ones. Of course, Sora felt ready enough to take the risk. Why, you ask?
Eyes level with the Horizon, Sora said, "the point is, I want to understand you too. You're my friend and that makes you important to me." Sora's emotions were very on par with that, and he knew as much without needing to be a feelings expert. You didn't explain something like this; you just felt (and sometimes shared) it.
"Kairi's not gonna be impressed," Sora added in flat amusement. "She's gonna think I'm slacking off. That's probably true."
But other than the collateral confusion that would be brought onto nearby friends, how hard could it be, right?
With his ice cream stick half-way done, Sora turned to Roxas with the coup de gras.
"So, are we gonna do it?"

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Sora♡NOTES: Okay but they totally need to thread with Axel so he can see them switched outfits and be rly confused but them hug them both in a sora squish I'll be the Nobody, and you be the Somebody!
Okay, that had to be the strangest thing he had ever heard come out of the pure-hearted boy’s mouth. Of course Sora was particularly known for being a bit naive, but that was just.. Way to hit it right out of the park. But, oddly enough, Roxas was taking that statement into serious consideration, much more so than he probably should have been. He couldn’t help but think about how he and Vanitas had turned into that awful beast. Should Roxas even inform his counterpart that he had a demonic-looking twin running amuck? Maybe.. But now was not the time. Sometimes it was best to wait for the right opportunity to dispose of such important information.
The more the other spoke, the more the blond found endless similarities between them. They were friends. He was cared about. He was being called important by one of the most important people he had ever met. Roxas took another bite of his ice cream, not noticing that he was already at the end of the stick. He was staring into the twilight, a gentle smile coming to his face.
This was the place he took the people most important and special to him. If Sora was so eager and ready to befriend him and become close to him, then.. Roxas could do that to. He was sure of it.
“Yeah.” The Nobody said with a single nod, whirling his body around to get to his feet, throwing his arms into the air to stretch. He placed his popsicle stick into his pocket, reminding himself that he would dispose of it later. He lacked his Organization coat today, thus making their little “swapping” act a bit easier. “Let’s do it, Sora.”
Of course they wouldn’t be switching bodies or anything, so it wouldn’t actually give them the sensations of what it would be like to be each other, however, this exercise could prove to be quite useful. Seeing themselves in opposite clothing, the way that they represented themselves through appearance could prove to be helpful to them in more ways than one. Possible in the sense that the two counterparts could begin to attempt to understand each other better.

Greeat, Roxas agreed too, so you know what, everything was going to go smoothl--
"Wait, did you say castle?"
Sora was sure what castle that meant. It was a castle where his friends had once rounded up, not to hang out and play dress-up, but to fight for the good of all. Now whenever Sora thought of that castle, his mind automatically went to Xemnas and what Xemnas did. Sora stared at Roxas for the longest time while he made the calculations.
He'd been assured more than once of the organization's 'threats' receding or dying out completely. And this came from both Roxas and Axel. Both were his friends. He wasn't technically waltzing into the belly of another Monstro here; he was being invited by his friends.
Sora nodded his decision and got up first, perky as ever.
"Yeah. C'mon, Roxas, let's go to the castle."
What could happen anyway? Worst case scenario it would just be a long, long detour. The important part here was that he was helping Roxas. TAG: RoxasNOTES: I can just see it now. Axel losing all the confidence he built up that Sora was a semi-intelligent being. xD
