Ganondorf Dragmire
Age: Forties to Fifties physically; centuries or millenia chronologically Gender: Male Race: Gerudo -- Demon Group: Heart of Darkness Fandom: Legend of Zelda (Twilight Princess, specifically) ☆ ☆ ☆ Appearance: Ganondorf is a giant of a man, standing in at seven feet, six inches in height, and with a broad, imposing physique to match. His features are weathered and worn, and deep lines, both from the oncoming ravages of age on his body, and from a lifetime of scowling, smiling, and sneering, adorn his face. A mane of deep red hair is styled regally back over his head, meeting with a well-maintained beard. Large, prominent eyebrows the same deep red as his hair perch above deep-set, dark, yellow eyes. His skin is a deep brown, beaten into a shade of darkness by harsh sun and desert life, and tinged faintly with a sickly green shade by the evil in his heart. The former king is clad in a simply-made, but elegant and practical tunic equally suited to travelling as to fighting. Over this simple garb he usually dons his armor, which seems built much more for ceremony than function, with its large degree of decoration and embellishment, and a long, billowing, ragged cape of deep red hangs from his shoulders. Of particular note is a large, glowing wound in the middle of Ganondorf's chest, with cracks spreading from it through his armor. The former king carries himself with an easy grace befitting of a ruler, and more often than not has a stern, but not unkind expression on his face. ☆ ☆ ☆ Personality: Upon first meeting Ganondorf, you would be hard-pressed to think of him as the black-hearted monster of a tyrant he truly is. With the bearing and demeanor of a harsh but benevolent monarch, he seems to be a stern, but kind man. Always with a kind word to offer to anyone, and more than willing to assist with problems of others, if only to get in the good books of those he aids. But no amount of acting can truly hide the depths of the darkness lurking in the Gerudo's heart. And should you dare to approach him with open hostility, or directly oppose his plans, he will make sure you know what sort of man you're dealing with. To his allies, he is a stern, harsh and cold man, but one willing to lend his aid and even take a fall for you, as long as it does not directly interfere his own plans. To his enemies, he is a cruel, arrogant and bloodthirsty monster more than willing to crush entire worlds to rid himself of a single obstacle. While at one time, Ganondorf may have been a kind man and an honestly benevolent ruler of his people, the cruelty and ruthlessness necessary in his quest to aquire the power necessary to achieve his goals has twisted and corrupted him, and after acquiring the Triforce of Power the darkness and evil in his heart has been magnified and nearly consumed him, driving him to seek dominion and yet more power. He has abandoned and forgotten the noble goals he once held of helping his people, and has become a monstrous, evil man. ✓ Forward-looking -- Ganondorf is a man with vision stretching far to the future, and who plans out goals and strategies far in advance, making it difficult to surprise him and leaving many contingencies in place. ✓ Fearless -- Due perhaps in large part to confidence in his own abilities, and no small amount of arrogance and assurance in his own eventual success, Ganondorf is a man without fear, able to contend with any obstacle without batting an eye. ✓ Cunning -- Ganondorf is wily and devious in his scheming and planning, and is adept at exploiting anything that could be to his advantage. ✘ Blindingly arrogant -- Ganondorf is arrogant and assured of his own abilities, and cannot even seriously comprehend that he might ever lose or be outclassed, or that his plans could honestly be falling apart. This has been one of the key things leading to his defeat many times over. ✘ Furious temper -- As the incarnation of the rage of Demise, Ganondorf's temper is legendary, and when his otherwise calm facade begins to crack, he loses nearly all traces of his calm, methodical outlook and can become more self-destructive to his goals, on top of being just plain destructive. ✘ Mechanical -- Ganondorf has a cold, mechanical outlook on things, not letting his emotions interfere with decisions (unless his temper has flared up), and is dismissive of the lives of others and the value of things outside of his own schemes, lending to him not being a very effective team player. Weapon: While more often than not, Ganondorf is content to simply rely on his magic and bare hands to deal with his foes, the Gerudo king knows the value of a good blade. To such an end, he carries with him the Sword of the Sages that the Sages attempted to use to end his life with. It is a huge blade, easily a two-handed weapon for a man of normal stature, though Ganondorf easily wields it in one hand. The entire blade is pristine white, and emits a soft glow of white light when unsheathed. It is exceptionally durable, able to withstand clashing against even the legendary Master Sword without a scratch. It bears no remarkable powers of its own, but is still a mighty weapon, to be sure. The Triforce of Power could be considered a weapon in its own right. When calling upon its power, the emblem of the Triforce glows faintly on the back of his right hand, glowing brighter and clearer as more power is called forth, or when in the presence of the other fragments of the Triforce. Abilities: Even without taking into account the incredible power granted to him by the Triforce of Power, Ganondorf is a formiddable foe to contend with. Born to the desert-dwelling Gerudo, he was trained extensively in the skills of his people. To such an end, Ganondorf is exceptionally skilled in the fields of thievery, tracking and hunting, horseback riding over virtually any terrain, swordsmanship, and archery -- especially from horseback. Even by purely mortal means, he is an exceptionally dangerous man to face in combat. Ganondorf is also an exceptionally intelligent and learned man, and adept at planning out schemes and tactics. He makes a remarkable general of grand battles, and a shrewd planner in the long term. He is also able to quickly grasp new information and changes in events, working with them and learning new facts quickly. Even before attaining the Triforce of Power, Ganondorf was a skilled sorcerer, able to produce blasts of dark magic, summon huge monsters and parasites, and revive death creatures to do his bidding. With the Triforce of Power in his possession, however, Ganondorf has attained levels of power that could only be described as "god-like". His magical power rose to unfathomable levels, able to break centuries-old bindings, revive long-dead monsters, tear open portals between dimensions, summon monsters of even greater power than before, create phantom doubles of himself, and conquer all of Hyrule without any real effort. He is able to teleport, levitate and fly with ease, create illusions, summon walls of fire, and fire blasts of many elements of magic. He can create blankets of darkness and fog, and imbue magic into objects to make something as plain as his cape capable of turning aside weapons or becoming a powerful bludgeon. He is also capable of creating powerful barriers and force fields, which violently repel anything that comes into contact with them. Ganondorf is also capable of projecting his awareness and senses to extreme lengths, amplifying his voice to boom for miles around, and assuming the form of a massive form of fire in the form of his own face. Ganondorf's physical strength and endurance have also risen to enormous levels. He is able to throw literally earth-shaking punches, and lift incredible weight without apparent effort. His durability allows him to shrug off virtually any wound from a conventional source, and his threshold for injury and survival has risen to obscene levels. He was able to survive the massive wound to his chest, and immediately counter attack with the very weapon he had been impaled with. Even those weapons that are bane to him and can bypass his nigh-invulnerability won't put him down easily, due to his incredible endurance and resilience to injury. Ganondorf is also capable of feeding on the rage of others to increase his own power, potentially even gaining new powers altogether in the process. During his connection with Zant, the Gerudo King managed to assimilate the Twili race's magic abilities, becoming capable of opening Twilight Portals, turning himself into Twilight particles to avoid attacks or teleport, or even possess others. (This possession ability will only be used with another player's permission, for specific purposes.) In the inverse of this, Ganondorf is also capable of lending part of his power to another person, giving them access to great magical power and increasing their physical prowess several times over. This lended power is merely a fragment of the incredible might Ganondorf wields with the Triforce of Power, but it is still an incredibly potent gift. Such a lending of power lasts until its bearer is defeated soundly in battle or Ganondorf himself recalls the lended power. (This lending of power will only be used for specifically planned plot purposes.) If the tide of a situation turns against him, and his abilities prove to be not enough, Ganondorf has one further trick up his sleeve. Calling upon his rage and the full might of the Triforce of Power, Ganondorf assumes the form of a massive beast, akin to something between a boar and a great lion. In this form, his already incredible strength is increased several times over, and his sheer size and mass lend tremendous force behind his charges and blows. He is still capable of utilizing his magic to some degree in this form, utilizing portals and teleportation to charge at foes from unexpected angles. The form is draining to sustain for prolonged periods, and so is best used as a last-resort option, or for simply when Ganondorf's rage gets the best of him. Aside from abilities in combat, Ganondorf is also a skilled enough politician, and is capable of playing a part well enough to disguise his true intentions and motivations from nearly anyone. He is skilled at "playing the hero" to gain the favor of folk around him, and throwing suspicion away from himself if necessary. He is also skilled at playing the pipe organ, and is a capable teacher of the skills expected of the Gerudo. And finally, as the incarnation of the hatred of Demise, Ganondorf is both intrinsically bound to, destined to fight against, and capable of sensing the proximity of those with the blood of the Goddess and her hero -- the incarnations of Zelda and Link, respectively. ☆ ☆ ☆ History: The story of Ganondorf begins long before he was ever born. Long, long ago, the demon king Demise was defeated in battle by the Hero of the Goddess, and in his rage, cursed their bloodlines, declaring that his hatred would always arise to do battle with them and cause pain and suffering. Countless years later, Ganondorf was born as the king of the Gerudo in the realm of Hyrule as the sole male in a hundred years, becoming their king. Jealous of the Hylians and their realm of Hyrule, where life was not a struggle, he set a goal to conquer Hyrule and claim it for his people. Though his intentions were noble, his methods were cruel, and he committed atrocities upon the various creatures of Hyrule in attempts to coerce them into giving him the three Spiritual Stones that sealed the gate to the Sacred Realm. He was not succesful in his attempts, but the child hero, Link, a descendant of the Goddess's Hero succeeded, attempting to acquire the Master Sword, but inadvertantly left the gateway open, allowing Ganondorf to acquire the Triforce, though the Triforce shattered, leaving Ganondorf with only the fragment containing Power. While Link is imprisoned to await growing into the stature of the Hero, Ganondorf conquers Hyrule and begins a tireless search for the other two pieces of the Triforce. After several years, Link awakens from his sleep and takes up the Master Sword, purifying the Temples across Hyrule and awakening the Sages. Though Ganondorf was able to capture Princess Zelda after she cast aside her disguise as Shiek, he was inevitably defeated by Link, after which, the young Hero went back in time to before Ganondorf conquered Hyrule. Informed of the coming tragedy by the young Hero, the King of Hyrule demanded that Ganondorf be captured and executed for his plots against Hyrule. The Gerudo King was captured and imprisoned, and shortly executed by the Seven Sages. The Sage of Water, wielding the blade of execution, ran the Gerudo through with the Sword of the Sages, ending the man's life....or at least that was the plan. The Triforce of Power, reaching across time itself, asserted itself on Ganondorf at that moment, and he was not killed by the wound. He broke free of the restraints the Sages had placed on him, and killed the Sage of Water with his bare hands. The other Sages, panicking at this turn of events, threw Ganondorf into the Twilight Realm. Though still very much alive, Ganondorf was weakened by his imprisonment, and it took centuries for him to gather his power again. Feeding off of the anger and resentment of the banished Twili people, Ganondorf slowly grew strong again, however, and offered part of his power to the angry and resentful Zant. Though he never spoke of his plan directly, when Zant launched a military campaign to cover all of Hyrule with Twilight, Ganondorf took the opportunity to escape as Zant was defeated. Opposed once again by a descendant of the legendary Hero, this time aided by the corrupted and transformed ruler of the Twili people, Ganondorf defeated them soundly in their first encounter. The second encounter with the Hero, however, did not go as well for him, and even though the dark king possessed Zelda to try and force the Hero to yield, he was defeated and assumed the form of Ganon in a blind rage. Defeated again, Ganondorf summoned a mighty steed and fled the castle to more open ground. Assisted by Princess Zelda, the Hero pursued Ganondorf on horseback, fending off the minions of the dark king with the Master Sword, as the Princess let fly with Light Arrows, and soon enough the dark king was struck an injury, toppling from his horse. The Hero met him in direct combat, and due to his own arrogance and not taking the young Hero seriously, Ganondorf was defeated and seemingly killed. Though rather than dying, Ganondorf instead fell into the growing darkness encroaching on the world of Hyrule. Through sheer willpower and stubborn determination, he did not succumb to the darkness and survived to see another day, if only just. Berating himself over his foolishness in underestimating the Master Sword, the Gerudo king waited to recover and set about crafting new plans in this new world. ☆ ☆ ☆ OOC || OOC Name; Sirfy || Other Characters; None just yet || FACECLAIMS; Ganondorf - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess |
