The Mayor of the town is frantic at the growing chaos outside of town, so very near to the town's borders and, furthermore, so close to Halloween! He eagerly rushes out to meet the mismatched-looking pair that had come to answer his request to put down or drive off the rowdy pests, telling them the specifics of what he has in mind. He also politely requests that if at all possible they try to keep collateral damage to the graveyard to a minimum! With that in mind, he wishes the duo luck in their efforts. So, now that you're here and the Mayor has given you his blessing to get started on your quest, what do you do? Do you RUSH STRAIGHT TO THE GRAVEYARDDo you ADVANCE CAREFULLY to keep alert for trouble? Do you CHECK WITH THE TOWNSFOLK for anything that might be useful to know about the area? Special FactorsSora-- Kingdom Key: +1 to attack rolls -- Guard: Completely nullify one attack on a defend command (at your discretion), reflect projectile attacks The Meta-- Overshields: +2 bonus to defend actions -- Bio Scanner: +1 bonus to Recon actions Sora @xehanorto

i.imgur.com/TyJs0Hz.png "Welp," Sora piped up when they were left alone, "it looks like we're really doing this." he turned to his circumstantial friend with an aggressively cheery smile. "So, you ready to get this clean-up going?"
Sora barely noticed the lack of response; he took to thinking over that long stretch of pause instead: The gate leading to the graveyard was right in front of them, and it was one of the most deserted places of the entire town. The townsfolk were pretty scary, but not half as defenseless now that the Heartless have been going on for a while (some probably enjoyed them here). Either way, the best the townsfolks could have done was at least push the Heartless numbers away from the busier part of town. Sora began to lend voice to his thoughts. "Hmm...well, I'd say we definitely look in the graveyard first." His expression tightened. "okay, it should be a piece of cake!"
He rocketed off toward the keyblade -- but not before skidding back to address his partner. "Oh, and remember - we shouldn't break anything!"
Except something breaking was the first thing Sora heard when he stumbled into the graveyard.
When he looked down, he was crushing an old, dusty urn.
"H-Heh...whoops."
He just kind of brushed it to the side with his shoe, before meandering further into the heart of the cemetery. It was quiet. Too quiet.

Maine was used to working with strange characters before, he had worked with someone like Wash in a group that was supposed to be super soldiers that fought of Insurrectionists and aliens. And yet, this spiky haired idiot was pushing him to the limits of his patience. The only reason he had even agreed to this was because he had been promised some precious resources and potential information, but now it wasn't seeming worth it, if this was what he had to put up with.
He was about to growl a reply to the other's suggestion, before he rushed into where they were going without so much a second thought. So much for getting information since he had never been to this world before. Then came a very annoyed growl as the other accidentally stepped on a decoration, before Sigma appeared next to Maine and addressed the other, while the mute brute pulled out his weapon, in anticipation for a fight. "Perhaps we should have gathered some information before so recklessly rushing into the open. Your not very good at this sort of thing, are you boy?"

You have decided to RUSH STRAIGHT TO THE GRAVEYARD. In his rush to dive straight into the fray, Sora stepping on the urn provides just enough sound to alert a group of Heartless, and he ends up SURROUNDED! LUCKY!But luckily the Heartless are caught just as off guard as Sora! They do NOT get a free attack! The Meta, trailing behind Sora, has time to see the potential disaster in the making, and hangs back. He does NOT get surrounded! FIRST COMBAT ROUND: START
Sora: 200 HP
The Meta: 200 HP

i.imgur.com/HZlAXcx.png Well. That was unexpected.
Encircled by a band of newly-formed Heartless, Sora conceived his weapon and put his game face on. The Shadow, he'd ignore for now. The Gargoyles too; he couldn't fly because life wasn't fair and they were too far. The Invisible and the Knight seemed more eager for his attention, and also his hide. But he wasn't a stranger to situations like this. Piece of cake, he mentally revised.
His internal monologue made him nearly miss his partner's dialogue. "You mean the Heartless? 'Course I am! I've been fighting them for a while, actually-- Whoa! Is that a ghost?"
The heartless charged. Sora didn't have time to goggle his friend in duplicate. When the Armored Knight's weapon closed in, he parried it back and away. Then twisting sharply, the Keyblader grazed the sturdy armor before dashing forward and readily engaging with the Invisible. The burly creature was quick, timing its reposte against his own with every meaning to kill. Thankfully, Sora wasn't wrong; he'd had more than his share of Heartless onslaughts.
And yes, nearly forgetting the two aerial Heartless now whizzing toward him was part of that experience.

Meta growled almost exasperated when the other got surrounded by those creatures, with Sigma receding back into the armor, not wanting to try and carry out a conversation during battle while also trying to run Maine's equipment. This boy was going to get them killed if he wasn't careful, if he became too big a liability, he would leave him to his fate. After all, the battlefield was no place for a child and he wouldn't risk his goals to save one so pitiful. Cracking his knuckles, he immediately rushed towards the Armored Knight as he moved to grab the Heartless. Once he managed to get a grip on it, he would throw it at one of the two Gargoyles flying about to see if it could clip it's wings.

Woosh.
"Geh?"
Sora didn't know what to make out what happened until he saw one of the Gargoyles drop like a sack of potatoes. He blinked wondrously at his brute of a partner, succumbing to a loud grin. "Good save!" was the upbeat rally as he regained his stance.
Delivering a deterrent blow to the Invisible, he then clopped off just as the flying cretin recovered from its daze. This time he set aside the knight, ducking from a sword to the head and met the Gargoyle with the Keybladed judgement it deserved.

Maine nodded towards the boy as he was complimented on his strength, one of the few things he took great pride in. Growling, he took his weapon from his back, cocking it as he looked at the Armored Knight that he had thrown mere moments ago. It had hit him, not many things had done that to him ever since his injuries that rendered him mute, but this pathetic creature managed to do just that. It didn't hurt, it barely made a cut in his armor, but his pride was wounded. Pulling the trigger on his unique weapon, he fired an explosive shot at the Armored Knight, that upon reaching it would cause an explosion, not large enough to hit other Heartless, but enough to catch the Armored Knight off guard if it managed to guard.
He then turned his attention to the Garygole that he had thrown the knight at prior, firing another shot at it from his Brute Shot. He needed to see how good his weaponry would work on these things or if he would be better off fighting up close and personal.

i.imgur.com/HZlAXcx.png "Ouch!"
Oh, so that's where it went.
The Gargoyle pushed off the ground, and therefore out of reach, as soon as it could. With a fresh sting on his calf and a Heartless too close for safety, Sora had to prioritize: ignoring the (Gargoyle 1), he instead ran into the smaller Heartless with an upward slash. His weapon may not have been as dynamic as his partner’s, but it was effective within its own rights.
By then, his big-sworded nemesis was rounding back onto him. Sora extended the charity. While he did, he nodded to his partner.
"Don't worry about these guys - I'll handle 'em. You can take care of the other two."
After all - the Gargoyles could fly (even if one isn't right now) and the other had a pretty convincing...rifle-thing.

The Meta nodded in response to the kid's announcement that he would handle the small one and the flying one with the giant sword. Looking at the Gargoyle that was dazed near the ground, he growled, immediately throwing his Brute Shot at the Heartless, intending for the sword to cleave through it and kill it. Not bothering to wait and see what had happened to the creature that had gotten a lucky shot on him, he barreled forward, crashing between anything between him and his weapon, before grabbing it.
Growling to himself, he took aim at the Garygole that was still patrolling the skies, firing another explosive round from the gun portion of his weapon. If that thing didn't stop flapping around soon, he would grab it and tear it's wings off to make sure it stayed on the ground. Waiting for the smoke to clear, he turned to see how his 'partner' was doing against the other two.
