[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Axel ♡NOTES: this got real sad real fast wow So... It turns out that Axel had been clueless. Apparently what was going on was running even deeper than the redhead was aware of. Roxas took in a deep breath and dropped his gaze towards the half-devoured funnel cake, finding that his stomach wasn't allowing him to east anymore. The thought of stuffing more of the fried dough into his system made him nauseous; he was too troubled by what was going on to even begin to think about eating.
"I.. I'unno - no one should have to see something like that. Especially not someone like you." It may have sounded a little odd, but that was the blond boy's way of telling his lover that he didn't think that anything bad should happen to someone that he revered as highly as Axel, the great and magnificent Axel. He smiled gently toward the other, though it was a pained one. The eighth was motioning towards his eye in confusion to the previous question - apparently he had never gotten a glimpse of his reflection when it had happened previously.
"Your eyes.. They change color sometimes. When you're in a bad mood, I think." The Key of Destiny murmured, watching him carefully but not seeing a flicker of those brilliant emeralds. He was comforted by that, knowing that he was able to keep his Flurry in a somewhat-happy state for the moment. "They'll turn gold, almost like Vanitas'." The comparison probably wouldn't make Axel too terribly happy, but it was all Roxas knew to say in terms of explaining what he had seen.
"Whenever it happens, you don't really look like... Like you." Carefully, Roxas placed his hands around his lemonade, though he wasn't about to bring it to his lips anytime soon. "You look like someone who's really hurt and broken."

The Flurry was actually quite moved that his Key found it such a terrible thing that he had seen the mess of his Somebody's heart. He didn't think it right that anyone actually know what had become of their heart, not that very many of them did know. Most were more mindless Nobodies, or those had been sent on and would never know the fate of their missing piece. Did Roxas even know what happened to Sora's Heartless, what that thing had looked like? It didn't matter anymore, but this was a very unique situation the redhead found himself in.
It just kept getting worse since he couldn't think of a damn person that he could go to for advice. Would he even bother doing that if he did know someone? He felt bad that he was burdening his blond with all of this as there would be nothing Roxas could do. All he could do was suffer along side him, watching as he struggled to figure all of this out. He really had no idea how to handle learning that his eyes changed color. It wasn't even a color that could be considered vaguely good. Amber, the color of Vanitas' eyes, Saix' ... Xemnas'. For a color that could be so bright, it was the color of darkness.
Immediately Axel dropped his eyes to stare at the table. His jaw clenched as he realized that had to be a clear sign that he was losing himself back to the dark. He was not meant for the light. He bowed his head and took a deep, shaking breath. I've always been broken, remember? He replied quietly, a small, dark chuckle coming from him. This was just one more crack in the visage. Just one more nail in the coffin that he was damned. He really didn't deserve Roxas, didn't deserve to have someone that very obviously belonged in the light. This love of theirs would be cursed because of him.
He cleared his throat, trying to build up the courage to do the hardest thing he would ever have to do. For all the bad things he had done, for what few good acts he had performed, let this be the best and the worst of it. You should go, Rox. This isn't the place for you. While Prankster's Paradise wasn't the most savory of worlds, Axel didn't just mean the other Nobody shouldn't be in his place. He meant that he should leave the redhead, move on to something that he actually deserved, something good and pure. The Key of Destiny shouldn't be dragged any further into the abyss.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: Axel ♡NOTES: this got real sad real fast wow What was bad was quickly falling into the worse, and there was nothing Roxas could do. He couldn't reach out and fix what he had apparently screwed up. As much as he wanted to, he knew that there would be no consolation... The look that was in the other male's eyes was louder than any words or screams that could have attempted to convey what was going through Axel's mind.
"Wh-..? You're.. You're not.. Though..." He was trying to save this, he really was, but any attempt would be virtually fruitless and worthless. His voice wouldn't be heard past meaningless noises - there was too much going on in the eight's mind to pay attention to what was going on around him. What was said next, however, was a bit too much for him to even try and handle. What.. Was Axel trying to say? The young boy's hands tightened mercilessly around the lemonade that was between his palms to the point of his knuckles turning white, his entire small body stating to tremble.
His chest was tight and his stomach was dropping into every single layer of hell, plus a few. His azure eyes widened and he opened his lips to speak, but nothing was coming out. He wanted to take what he had been told literally, but he knew that wasn't what it meant. It didn't mean get out of this world, did it? He tried to convince himself at first... But that would be nothing more than childish wishes. The happy amusement park world around them was fading away, turning dark and into something that Roxas didn't care to look at. The colorful lights were no more than a gray blur that showed no vibrant shimmers any longer; Axel was telling him to get away and to stay away.
"B-But! Wait-! uh-..."
His voice was trembling, tears brimming visibly and wetting his eyes before his cheeks. They were dripping down from his ducts, refusing to be stopped. It was like everything, everything that he had tried to make for himself had been taken away in a single instant; he didn't know what this meant, but he knew that Axel was telling him that he didn't want Roxas to be around him anymore.
"I.. I can help you- right? Right?" He was trying to talk as though the tears weren't there, but of course his voice showed them without much of a veil. "Right?" His voice lessened in volume, almost no more than a whisper. That was all he wanted - he didn't ask for any of this. He didn't ask to make it worse.
But he had.
For the both of them.
"I just- I w-..I wanted-" His breath hitched. "I didn't mean- I'm sorry, Axel, please."
The lid of his lemonade popped from the cup due to the pressure being applied to it. Who would have known that a Nobody, a Nobody of all things, could be as hurt as the poor Key of Destiny was at this very moment. He was displaced from his entire world, and that world was the person that he loved more than anything. He was uprooted from all that he knew, and he didn't know where to go or what to do. Without Axel by his side, Roxas felt lesser than the dirt below his feet; he wasn't anything now.
"I'll... Wait for you at the Castle!" He was faking such a happy tone, tears falling from the bottom of his chin to match a quivering, plastic smile forced onto his face. He shakily got up from the table, turning away, his shoulder visibly shaking from sobs that were now beginning to wreck his body now that emerald eyes were not upon him.
A dark corridor opened, and the boy stepped through. He was surrounded by the thing that he felt was now ripping him apart from the inside. He felt.. Like any second he could return back to this darkness. Back to where he was before he came into being in the first place.
Maybe then he could forget.
