Vanitas was trying to hold them together, even while bargaining with him about the Keyblade. Fighting him on raising it, and then it was too late. He found himself violently ripped from Roxas, splayed on his back in the sand, convulsing in pain and from the memory of the first time that had happened. For a moment he just laid there and stared at Axel when he spoke, watching the way he treated Roxas with so much care. He was shocked Axel had even thought of him, much less that he had expressed concern for him.
The raven haired boy sat up despite the pain and emptiness still stinging his muscles. He nodded slowly and looked to Roxas. It truly had been an accident though and he started to shift toward Roxas in concern, he couldn't feel much better honestly. At least Vanitas was used to pain, the blonde wasn't and he couldn't feel what he did now.
"Roxas," his already deep voice was rough, but he sounded genuine as he spoke," I'm sorry...."
Golden hues glanced to meet Axel's eye as well, his expression less open but still regretful for what he felt like he had caused, if nothing else.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: @vanity Axel ♡NOTES: ow Was he… Okay?
How was he supposed to answer that? He couldn’t even fathom the ability to speak at the moment. His chest was screaming, his body was crying, and his eyes were filled with tears that he didn’t understand other than the fact that he was in the most immense amount of pain - this was only matched to when Riku had used the darkness to defeat him and the way it felt to destroy Xion. It was ripping him apart from the inside out, and it showed on the outside as his tears dripped to the sand.
No, he wasn’t okay.
Roxas, I’m sorry…
His body was detesting, but he was struggling to move forward all the same, trying so hard to get the one who was apologizing to him with such sincerity. He looked at Axel and nodded, though of course it was a little more than obvious that he wasn’t telling the truth. He sloppily made his way over to Vanitas, eyes red and puffy from crying in such a large amount.
“I’m sorry.” He limply slung his body forward, wrapping his arms loosely around the hellion he was previously morphed together with, embracing him with as much strength he was able to muster from this weakened state. He didn’t care how much it hurt, comforting this poor soul was much more important than anything he could possibly be feeling. Being so close with this individual, he had found just how much pain he was in at all times, not just when it was physical. Roxas understood being no more than half of a person, but there was something much more to it that he didn’t have the knowledge of.
His tears created wetness in the fabric of Vanitas’ clothing, and Roxas found that he was able to relax, resting his weight upon the mirror image of his Somebody. “It’s okay.. To feel.. Alone - sometimes - I think -” His sentences were choppy, but understandable. “You don’t.. Have to be.. Anymore..” [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

Axel was willing to let his anger at the pair go in preference for caring for the injured idiots. Vanitas sat up without wincing much which meant that he was able to handle this better than the blond. He could respect that and he was shocked at the sincerity in his voice. He raised a brow at the boy, giving him a more considering look. Perhaps there was something decent in him after all. He might be willing to find out if his safety was guaranteed. Somehow he thought that of the two of them, only he cared that Roxas wanted them both alive. It meant he would restrain himself more.
His focus shifted back to his Key, feeling him move under his hand. He had been ready to take the kid into his arms to comfort him, but was rather completely ignored. Instead Roxas thought it best to try moving and going toward the very thing that helped cause such hurt. His anger rose back up, eyes paling once more. He sat back on his feet while he tried to figure out why the hell the blond wouldn't acknowledge him and instead sought out another.
Maybe that twisted thing Asphyxia had shown him wasn't just Lea's corrupted heart. It foreshadowed what would happen to his own as jealousy and anger darkened it. His newly amber gaze glared at the squirts and wasn't sure exactly what Roxas meant when he said that Vanitas didn't need to feel alone anymore. Surely he was smarter than to offer joining again. They hadn't been complete as they first thought and their disjointed motions, the internal struggle must have proved that to them. Well, just to be safe ...
You won't be merging again, He stated, his tone steely. He took a deep breath and let his focus settle on Roxas. Heart or not, he was far too damn caring for others. He hadn't enough mind to care for himself and his own well being. He shook his head and looked away. The castle doors will always be open. He pushed himself to his feet and turned his back on the pair. If Roxas wouldn't look out for himself, than Axel would. He would say what needed saying and forcing them to listen to him. He obviously was the only one that allowed logic to rule over him more than anything else. That's what the Flurry thought anyway.

Gold eyes sought the redhead when Roxas got close, his back stiffened in instinct and he stared between the pair, desperately wishing that Roxas would hold him closer and let go as well. He slowly wrapped his arms around Roxas and just clung to him, knowing that he had seen the depths of his pain and suffering and still couldn't decide whether he liked that or not.
Axel's voice caught his attention and he looked up into those pale eyes and gave him an unreadable expression. He didn't want to see that color there, it could only mean bad things were in store for the red head if he couldn't control his negative qualities.
He started to push Roxas away, nudging him toward Axel in the hopes of quelling whatever was stirring in the tallest of them. He also needed the distance. He was facing that inner emptiness again, and what he wanted was that peace again.... which was being denied him anyway. He'd want it again anyway. Maybe at a time when Axel couldn't stop him... but only if Roxas wanted it too.

[attr="class","tiacon"] [attr="class","tiabox"] ♡TAGS: @vanity Axel ♡NOTES: ow Consciousness was starting to become something of the distant past. He couldn't think straight, he couldn't see straight, and he surely didn't understand what was being said around him. He heard the words, but his brain refused to put meaning behind the noises, and it was all just static to him.
The pain was finally taking its toll on him to the point where sleep was threatening to take him at any second, but he enjoyed the sensation of being close to someone. He hadn't a clue how much he had hurt his beloved redhead with the way he had acted, but he simply wasn't in his right mind. The concern he held for Vanitas was due to the what he had felt when they were joined together; he had seen the broken heart in a much different light, and could feel the turmoil that was his every day life. There would be no way he could explain that to Axel, as much as he willed the other Nobody to understand.
He was completely oblivious to what was happening inside his lover, however. He hadn't noticed the yellow pigmentation in his eyes, and he surely didn't pick up on the hurt and angered tone that was used towards them. He was resting his head on Vanitas' shoulder before he was pushed backwards, and he complied with the force, not having the energy to resist anything. The sand was warm and welcoming to him, but, instead, he simply fell towards the raven-haired male again whenever the pushing subsided.
Roxas, the poor thing, was out completely cold. It was his body's way of coping with the intense agony it was having to deal with, his mind utterly shutting down since he wasn't able to handle it. It was a strange type of unconsciousness, though - he was still aware of what was going on around him, but he simply couldn't use his body to communicate or move whatsoever. The pain, thankfully, had finally subsided due to the odd disconnection with his mind and physicality. He breathed in deeply, finally beginning the recuperation process from what he had just undergone.
It was a traumatic experience, and not just for him. [newclass=.tiabox]opacity:0;transition:.6s all linear;[/newclass] [newclass=.tiacon:hover .tiabox]opacity:1[/newclass]

There was nothing but the gentle hush of the waves as they ebbed and flowed over the sand. The yellow eyed demon stared out at the ocean. If he weren't feeling so angry then he might still find it a beautiful sight that paled in comparison to his love's eyes. He wasn't exactly thinking straight right now. The fragile thing that was his budding heart couldn't fend off the dark feelings right now, though if he tried he could probably pretend, as usual, that everything was fine.
The fact that he had entered into a new relationship with Roxas and the very being of his affections couldn't be bothered to so much as look at him hurt too much. He didn't really care that he had shared Vanitas' pain. He didn't honestly care about anything other than the fact that he had been so blatantly snubbed and the one person that had looked at him had been the one to want to attack him. He closed his eyes against the rising pain and rotated his shoulders. He wouldn't allow himself to be so weak. He hadn't survived years of the Organization by letting emotions rule him, fake or not.
He twisted enough to see the duo still in the sad as he opened his amber eyes. Vanitas seemed frozen, stuck with Roxas leaning on him. The Key had passed out most likely from shock and pain. Well, conscious or not, he would be going home. The redhead started forward, leaning down to pick his rag doll up. He probably could have been nicer, carried the blond in both arms. Instead he had him tucked under one arm and held him tight to his side. With his free hand he called a Dark Corridor forth. Coming? He asked as he headed for the darkness. The fire bug didn't bother to look back to see if the dark haired boy was following him, simply assuming he would. It just wouldn't do to leave him alone, right?

Relief is the first feeling that washes over him when Axel finally comes to pick up Roxas, the blonde's weight leaving him feeling alone once again and for a moment he considers grabbing for him again. Instead he's stopped by Axel's word. Coming? Was that an invitation? Surprising by all standards.
He paused again and started to get to his feet carefully, still wobbly and even tired after their ordeal. But he was more hardened to physical pain than Roxas was, and that was okay most other times. Right now he was wracked with regret for putting Roxas down and out as he had.
And so his feet carried him forward and into the corridor after Axel and Roxas to wherever it was they dwelled.
